My Calendar Girl

I had been waiting five hours for Maggie to come home and I just thought that maybe the interview had took a little longer. That was until I heard a swoosh noise and when I looked over Kara stood looking very distressed.

"Kara?" I asked standing up

"Maggie has been taken to hospital. I was flying about when I heard sirens and I followed and when I got there I saw Maggie lying on the floor with some paramedics. She was attacked and it's bad enough that her attackers have opened her old wound!" She said as I zoned out

"Take me there now!" I demanded as she lifted me as we began to fly there.
When we arrived I rushed straight in and went straight to the nurses bar.

"I'm looking for Maggie Sawyer....no sorry Maggie Danvers I'm her wife she was just brought here!" I rambled as she pointed to a doctor

"James this is Maggie Danvers wife!" She shouted as he walked over quickly

"OK Mrs Danvers we're going to take your wife into surgery as she is bleeding internally. She has broken her arm, dislocated her shoulder, broke three ribs and dislocated her hip and also has a minor concussion." He said as I could only think about who did this.

"Will she be ok though tell me she will be ok?" I cried as all I could think about was who did it and if i'm going to make it to tomorrow with a wife.

"yes she should be fine if she gets through the surgery and knowing Agent Danvers she'll get through it like a champ" he comforted me as I looked about.

"Kara Shaun Johnson!" I shouted as she jumped out of her daze

"who?" she asked walking over to me

"The guy that Maggie put away in the hostage situation...we got a letter yesterday saying that we weren't safe and that we should watch our backs but we thought that it was just a bunch of kids playing around" I rambled on before she sprinted off with no explanation but I knew exactly where she was going.

While Maggie was in surgery they let me sit in the room where she was going to be in and the more I sat the more I had time to think and there was only one moment I could think of because I saw it on my way out the house this morning.

FLASHBACK

Maggie and I had been dating six months and for some reason she's been on a recent nervous stage and a huge health kick and I have no clue why. I was sitting eating dinner myself when I heard a knock at the door. I got up and when I answered it Maggie stood there smiling.

"Hey babe I didn't know you were coming over tonight I thought you said were spending some time at home" I asked letting her in and going back to my plate.

"i wanted to talk to you. Im aware that ive been acting a little strange recently and I just wanted to tell you why" she said as I continued eating making her laugh as she hated it when I did that. I gestured with a full mouth for her to continue. "Well I've been trying to get into shape for a photo shoot that i've done"

"photo shoot?" I asked taking a drink and smiling

"the NCPD calendar shoot!" she said nervously looking at the floor as I laughed

I got up and walked over to her and stood opposite her.

"i want to see these photos anything that involves my girlfriend and barely any clothes is my kind of party" I laughed making her blush and look at her feet. she pulled out her phone and began to show me pictures of her and the guys. "oh hey Pete looks pretty good if this doesn't work out and he dumps his girlfriend im going there" I laughed making her slap my arm.

"what do you think?" she asked smiling at me looking at her phone.

"babe you're hot...like really hot" I laughed taking the phone off her and running away.

She chased me all the way to my bed where I threw myself down. She jumped on me fighting to get her phone back when I had already finished sending me the photos. I handed back the phone and watched her sit smiling beside me.

"It all consideration your hot too!" She laughed putting her phone down and lying beside me.

"You know what I'm so lucky to have you as my girlfriend but I still Pete has a better body" I laughed back receiving a hit to the arm.

"Good one honey" she replied placing her head on my shoulder as I wrapped my arm around her.

"You're my calender girl" I laughed kissing her head.

END OF FLASHBACK

I had been sitting in the room two hours when a doctor came in to speak to me. I automatically jumped up and stood in front of him.

"Alex your wife is ok she made it through like a champ but..." he said before I had to interrupt

"But? There shouldn't be a but you said she was fine" I said borderline panicking.

"Yes she's fine but we had to cut off her wedding ring because it was bending into her hand and cutting of circulation" he replied placing the broken ring in my hand.

Looking at the ring made me realise how much things like this means as it symbolises how much we've been through already and this is hopefully the peak point.

"She should be down in a few minutes" he said before walking out and a few minutes did pass before she was wheeled in and the sight was horrifying and I never wished and I hoped I'd never see her like this.
