Hard To See You Again

3 Months later

I was spinning on my chair in my office thinking about how I've been divorced for 3 months and single for 3 months I've not dated not even had a glimmer of rebounds. I always kept a photo of me and Alex on our first date in the top drawer of my desk just for the hard days where I miss her. What makes days hard is that I haven't spoke to her since my promotion day and since the letter and it makes it a lot worse.

As I was spinning on my chair my office phone began to ring and it was never good when it rings.

It's weird hearing you say Sawyer instead of Danvers
Alex? Where are you?
I'm back in National City soon and I was hoping I could maybe come and get my things!
Ok just text me when you're back and I'll give you a key!
I'm so so sorry Maggie for leaving and...
Nope not over the phone you don't get to do this over the phone...I've gotta go I'll see you later Agent Danvers!

I slammed down the phone and before I knew it I threw it against the wall and followed by a lamp as I broke down on my chair.
Pete came rushing in and sat in front of me holding my knee.
"Sawyer what's wrong" he asked
"Why did she leave! We were ok I was supporting her and she left! She wanted to rush into things and get married and have kids before we travelled but she got up and left!" I replied sobbing as he held me.
"Go for a walk Sawyer clear your head" he said as I stood up and charged out. The first only place I thought about going was the DEO to see if she had told her parents.

When I got there I jumped off my bike holding my helmet in my hand and walked towards the building where Jeremiah was sitting on the top step.
"Jeremiah? Everything ok?" I asked as he looks up but his head automatically drops again making me concerned
"Everything's good apart from my daughter turning up after months!" He said making me jump
Instead of letting him finish I jumped up the steps and ran up to the DEO floor where as soon as I left the elevator I saw her standing with her mom, Kara and a few others along with a woman I'd never seen. As I began walking I noticed Alex's hand reach down to the woman's lower back to rest at the small of the back and she did the same. I stood and watched as Winn noticed me.
"Afternoon Agent Sawyer how are you!" He said as Alex panicked and let go of the woman
"Three months Alex...THREE MONTHS!!!" I shouted out of pain.
"I know!" She said making me launch my helmet at the wall
"No you don't Alex you left for three months divorced the person that made you reveal who you are supported you when we lost OUR baby and yet you come back with another woman!
If you haven't noticed already I'm Alex's Ex Maggie Sawyer by the way!" I ranted as she developed a sad look on her face.
"Can we talk about it somewhere less public?" Alex asked as Maggie picked up her helmet and began walking towards the gym where it's a lot more private.
When we entered the room I sat down on a stool and put my head in my hands.
"Did I mean nothing to you Alex?" I asked as she sighed.
"You meant the world to me but everything got to my head and I was afraid of failing you and afraid of hurting you!" She said with sadness in her voice and I felt sympathy
"Alex you'd never fail me and you'd never hurt me I think we dove in to quick we needed to travel and explore before thinking about next steps after we got married and..." I explained before she jumped in
"And I only thought that our marriage would be an adventure and that our years together would be an adventure and I'm not going to lie I thought and still think about you everyday and Maria has made it a lot harder because she wants me to forget my past whereas I want it back!" She replied as I stood up
"But why did you bring her if you want your past back"
"I tried to break up with her but she reversed it and persuaded me to bring her and before I knew it she was with me on the plane"
"What are you saying Alex?" I asked as she came closer and stood in front of me and played with my jacket
"I want you back Maggie if you'll have me? We'll start again go back to dating and take our time adventure, explore and just take time to find us what do you say?" She asked making me smile
"You don't have to ask me twice" I replied breaking the tough woman act and pulled her in for a kiss I said I would do anything to get her back and I didn't have to do a thing other than act.
"I need to speak to Maria!" She said as I agreed I left the room and arrived at where the crowd stood.
"Maria Alex needs you!" I said putting my mad face on so she didn't know what was going on.
"You okay Maggie" Eliza asked but instead of saying anything I waiting until I heard the door slam shut and I began jumping up and down.
"Guess who's back with your daughter!" I said as Eliza and Kara got excited.
"No way!" Kara smiled as we pulled away
"I told you I'd get her back" I smiled as Jeremiah high fived me.
We stood for about five minutes until Maria burst out of the room and stormed up to me and raised a hand but didn't follow.
"I wouldn't do that Maria I don't know how it works in your country but you don't hit a cop!" I laughed as she lowered her hand and stormed off revealing Alex standing at the end of the hall. Next thing I knew she came running towards me jumping into my arms.
We stood in each other's arms until the rest joined us.
We pulled apart and Alex grabbed my hand.
"Mom, Dad, Kara this is my new girlfriend Maggie Sawyer she's an NCPD Detective and pretty awesome!" She laughed making me laugh.
"Wait what are you going to do about living are you gonna stay apart?" Kara asked as I looked at her
"Alex Danvers will you move in with me again?" I asked making her smile
"You don't have to ask me twice" She laughed as I kissed her again.

I'll confess that I'm never letting her go again!
