Chapter twenty two

Craig's POV:

I laid beside her, gently running my fingers threw her hair.

Her eyes were puffy and red and her skin was blotchy and pale.

How could a perfect day turn out to be so gnarly?

I gently crawled out of the bed trying not to waker her.

I stepped out on the porch breathing in the cool morning air.

I could see threw the trees that my house's light was on so I decided to call Mark.

"Hey sparks"

"How's she doin?"

"She's still asleep.... It took her awhile to calm down last night. She feels awful and like it's all her fault. I suck at things like this. I feel shitty too." I blabbed on to Mark for a while as I paced the porch.

"It's a pretty shitty situation bud. It's not anyones fault though."

"I feel like she's gonna leave me now.... Like I doubt she's gonna wanna stay here.."

"Maybe give her time. You act like ya'll are serious."

" What do you mean serious? Just cause we haven't know each other that long?"

"Well I just mean it's not like you've been together for years.... You don't need to stick around for her"

"I care about her Sparks..."

"I know Craiger's but...."

"I thinks she's awake... Be over later"

"Bye"

I hung up the phone feeling slightly pissed off and snuck back into the cottage.

"Morning.."

I crawled onto the bed as Hudson sat up against the headboard...hugging her knees.

"Hi" she whispered.

"How ya feeling?"

"Like i've been hit by a transport truck" she inhaled deeply.

"I just can't believe she gone. Just like that. Poof. I mean I wasn't even their!"

"Hey....hey... Don't get worked up again. It's gonna be ok. Maybe you should go talk to your aunt"

"Yeah" she climbed out of the bed and started to walk towards the door.

She looked so lifeless.

I walked up towards the house with her.

When we reached the door I stoped.

"You wanna do this alone?"

"Mhmm"

"Ok call me later if you want"

I kissed her lightly on the head before she went inside the house.
