Chapter 24

*Ava's POV*

-2 months later-

"Congratulations. You are having twins."

Shock took over me as I repeated the words over and over again.

"Twins? As in two little babies at the same time?" "Yes ma'am."

Oh my god. Me and Zayn were going to be first parents to twins. No wonder I gained weight right away on the first month. By a month and half, I was already showing.

"Is it possible to know the genders of the babies?" "Not yet. It will be possible by the fourth month or maybe even next month if the developing is going quite well."

I nodded my head and I felt anxiousness rise upon me. I wanted to know if they were boys or girls. I still can't believe I was having twins.

"Well that's it for today. Make sure to make your appointment for next month and see you then."

I nodded my head again and went out to the waiting room. When my mum saw me, she got up from her seat.

"How's the baby doing?" "The babies are doing fine." "That's good."

Silence fell between us and a face of realization hit my mother.

"Wait. Did you say babies?"

Not being able to speak due to the shock still left, I just nodded my head.

"You're having twins?"

Again I nodded my head and my mum enveloped me in a hug.

"My baby is having twins. Oh my god. Are they boys or girls?" "I don't know. They can't tell this early in the pregnancy. Maybe next month."

She released me from the hug and led me to the little office.

"Hello. How can I help you today?" "I want to make an appointment for next month." "Name please." "Ava Foster."

The secretary typed in her computer and looked back up at me.

"Is July 7 at 3:00 p.m. alright?" "Yes." "Okay then. See you next month." "Thank you. "

We walked out of the clinic and I took my phone out right away. I dialed Zayn's phone hoping he wasn't busy right now. It went straight to voice mail. I left a message.

"Hey babe. Call me when you can. I have good news for you. Love you."

I hung up the phone and sadness crossed my features.

"It's ok Ava. He'll call back. I know he will." "He rarely calls back mum. He's always busy with the tour. Sometimes I feel like he doesn't care about me anymore." "He does care about you. He's just really busy with his career. But just because he doesn't call back it means that he doesn't care about you. If more than anything, he loves you and he will prove it when he comes back. We just have to wait for that day."

I nodded with tears slipping out and I let out a small sob. My mum rubbed circles in the small of my back as we walked to the car. On the whole ride back to the flat, we rode in silence. Once we were home, I went straight to my room and fell asleep.

Hey you guys!!! I know you all probably hate me right now for not updating like in a month. I'm really sorry. I just I was busy with school and finals. High school is tough you know. Especially when you're just a sophomore taking junior classes. But school ended for me Friday and yeah. I'm officially a junior!!! Anyways, I'm sorry for making y'all wait longer than usual.
