Chapter 28

*Ava's POV*

"Zayn?"

When I opened the door, I expected the pizza delivery guy but instead came face to face with Zayn. I didn't know how to react. I didn't know if to cry and be mad at him for not calling me back or to be happy and run to him with arms wide open.

"What are you doing here?"

The seriousness that he had etched on his face disappeared and was replaced by a look of hurt.

"What do you mean what I'm doing here? I came to see you. Can't I come visit my pregnant fiancé when I'm on break?"

"Why would you think that I would expect you with arms wide open when you never returned my calls? You didn't even reply my texts. How do you not reply my texts when all you had to do was type a reply and hit send?"

So I guess I decided to be mad. I wasn't trying to be mad but all that had happened so far was just too much to not handle.

"I'm sorry babe. I didn't have any time. I can explain."

The more he spoke, the angrier I got. I didn't want to hear him speak anymore. I knew that if he actually got to explaining, I would forgive him.

"You think you can explain when you missed my calls to tell you that we are having twins?!"

His expression changed once again and he looked at me in shock. When I realized what I had said, I covered my mouth. I wanted to tell him the news but I didn't want it to be like this in the middle of an argument.

"You're - We're having twins?"

His mood changed into a happy one and tears of joy had formed in his eyes. A goofy smile was on his lips and seeing him like that made me smile too. Tears also formed in my eyes and if I smiled any harder, my eyes would close and the tears would spill.

I nodded my head at him and he ran to close the small distance between us. He wrapped his arms around me and picked me up spinning me around. I clung onto his neck and I started crying. This moment filled my heart with happiness and I just wanted to freeze it and put it in a frame.

"I'm going to be a father to a pair of twins!"

He placed me down and held my face gently with his large hands.

"I'm so sorry Ava. If I had known, I wouldn't have listened to management's rules but then they're the reason that I'm here."

Confusion took over me and I just quirked my eyebrow at him.

"They somehow found about you being pregnant and they wanted me to spend some time with you so they gave us a break of two months."

A goofy smile appeared on my face and I wrapped my arms around his neck. It wasn't long before I felt his arms wrap around my waist.

"I'm glad they did. I've missed you so much."

I felt his face bury into the crook of my neck and his voice came out muffled by my hair.

"I missed you too."

We just stood there hugging and I heard some footsteps behind me. I guess Zayn looked up and saw that it was my mum.

"Hello Mrs. Foster. It's nice to see you again."

"Hello Zayn. It's nice to see you again too."

I pulled away from Zayn and turned around to look at my mum.

"He knows."

She gasped and start jumping up and down while clapping her hands. She was just like a little girl.

"That's great. Congratulations to both of you. Take care of her Zayn while you're here."

I felt Zayn look down at me and he wrapped his arm around my shoulder. I looked up at him and he smiled at me.

"I will."
