A Scare

CHAPTER ONE:

A SCARE

Renesmee spiked the volleyball over the net. Leah laughed behind her as the ball fell to the ground and the two of them watched the volleyball hit the sand as Jacob dived for it. Paul shook his head and grinned as Jacob got a mouth full of sand.

“Yes! Excellent, Nessie!” Leah laughed.

“Come on, Jake!” Paul laughed, “it gets you every time! You should know how she moves! She’s your wife for crying out loud!”

Jacob laughed and got to his feet with the ball in his hands.

“I know her moves…just not on the court.” Jacob said with a grin.

Renesmee raised her eyebrows and she crossed her arms. Both Leah and Paul stopped laughing and grinning and they stared at him.

“I’m leaving. I heard too much for one day,” Leah said and she left to the water.

“Jacob, we don’t need to hear about your sex life!” Paul shook his head.

“Don’t worry, Paul. Because of this he won’t be getting any tonight.” Renesmee said smiling.

Jacob glared at her and Leah laughed.

“Thank goodness that you wear the pants in your marriage, Renesmee!” Leah yelled as she took off her shirt to show her navy blue bikini, “I think that is the only way that you can control him!”

“What’s this?” Seth and Quill shot up from the water and looked at him.

“We were discussing how Renesmee holds the pants in their relationship!” Paul laughed.

“She does not!” Jacob said and I smiled him a teasing smile.

“I don’t know Jacob. I’ve seen her get pissed and then you get grouchy a week later!” Seth said and all of them howled with laughter.

Embry laughed as he got out of the water as well.

“Hey, that was the week that they cancelled my favourite show!” Jacob defended.

“Sounds to me like it was Renesmee who cancelled it!” Leah called.

This time Paul actually fell on the ground laughing and Renesmee smiled and laughed. She walked over to Jacob by going under the net. She threw the ball out of his hands and wrapped her arms around his neck while Jacob wrapped his arms around her waist. Renesmee leaned up and she brought her nose to his and whispered, “I’ll tell you what, if you make it up to me later maybe we can have something tonight.”

Jacob smiled and kissed her. Paul then walked away and Leah ran into the water. When they stopped, Jacob picked her up like a child and Renesmee giggled. Embry whined, “Come on guys! Not on the beach!”

“I’m going under!” Seth declared and the others laughed as he went under the water for a swim again.

Renesmee kissed him and said, “how about we just swim or now, Jake? I want a fun beach day before we got to work in a couple of days. My vacation week is almost over.”

Jacob smiled and kissed her forehead. He whispered in her ear as he walked her to the water, “you may wear the pants, Renesmee, but I can easily undo them.”

Renesmee giggled and Jacob then threw her in the water. The others laughed and Renesmee came up from the water. She smiled and splashed water at Jacob. He laughed and did the same. When Seth came up, the two of them fighting each other soon became a battle of boys against girls.
