CHAPTER EIGHT:

PREPARING

Jacob had tried to get some sleep on the plane considering that he barely got any sleep the night before, but he found that he couldn’t. He didn’t know why exactly he couldn’t sleep. Ever since Bella had called him and told him the great news that the Volturi were now keeping Renesmee safe, Jacob felt weak, scared, nervous, and happy.

He felt weak because after five years of thinking that the worst has happened to her, he knew that she was alive. He had pictured his love being murdered and being buried somewhere in the ground or being tied to something heavy before being sent down to the bottom of a pool of water. He was worried that she was helpless somewhere, being raped and/or tortured.

He was scared because he didn’t know what she looked like. When he had watched television newscast (he did every night in case the police had found something on Renesmee), he had heard horror stories of people who came out of captivity of their kidnapper and that they looked thin, pale, depressed, and tired.

They looked dead.

He was nervous because he wondered what she would do when she saw him. Jacob had been told that she had a family of her own now. Jacob didn’t know what that completely meant, but he was worried. What if Renesmee didn’t love him anymore? What if she hated him for letting her get kidnapped?

But all of those feelings came happy with it. Jacob was beyond happy that Renesmee was alive and that she was safe. Jacob never liked the Volturi. They had came to his wedding because Renesmee knew that they would come invited or not.

But now, all Jacob wanted to do was hug each and every one of them for helping Renesmee now.

Jacob had never felt so happy in years. For years during Renesmee’s disappearance, Jacob had felt extremely unhappy. He barely ever smiled. He could never feel happy. It was a rare thing for his family and friends to see him smile, let alone laugh. He hardly laughed and he could see it killing his friends to see him hurt like that.

Billy lived with Jacob now. Billy knew that Jacob couldn’t bare to be alone and he liked having a person’s company anyway, so they both got something out of it.

But Jacob still missed the bronze hair and freckled face that used to greet him every morning. He couldn’t bare to move any of her things, so they were the exact same as they were five years ago. Jacob still only slept on his side of the bed.

What Jacob hated the most about Renesmee being gone was that every morning he would feel as if someone had punched him in the chest because it was another day that he had to live without Renesmee and the thoughts about what could’ve happened to her.

Renesmee felt a hand on her shoulder shake her gently. Then she heard Justin tell her in a comforting voice, “Nessie. Nessie, sweetheart time to get up.”

Renesmee moaned before she then looked up and saw Justin smiling down at her.

“Good evening.” Justin said to her.

She gently sat up in the bed and looked around to see that Justin had turned on the lamp light. On the desk she saw a large plate of spaghetti with small meatballs and some small garlic bread pieces. There was also a glass of water beside her. She also noticed that William was no longer in the room. Justin was also holding a medium sized grey bag.

“Did you have a good sleep, sweetheart?” Justin asked her.

“Yes,” Renesmee answered before she asked, “what’s going on?”
