Chapter Six

Safe At Last

Justin and Renesmee were woken up by a knocking that was at their door. Renesmee winced at the sharp sound before she heard Justin mutter that he would answer it. She felt him unwrap his arm from around her waist and sit up on the bed. He quickly stretched his arms over his head before he stood up from the bed.

Renesmee forced herself to open her eyes. She watched Justin walk to the door, stumbling a little. There was little light coming in from the room since the curtains managed to keep most of it out, but Renesmee could see that it was clearly hours into the day.

Justin opened the door and Renesmee saw Aro from over Justin’s shoulder.

The two began talking in whispers. After a couple of seconds, Renesmee closed her eyes again and tried to relax in her bed. Her legs felt sore and she was still exhausted from all of the running that she did yesterday.

"Thank you for your hospitality." she heard Justin say to him.

Justin then shut the door and he walked back to the bed. He sat on it and began to stroke Renesmee’s hair. She forced her eyes open again so that she could look at him.

"What did Aro want?" Renesmee asked in a tired whisper.

"He said that lunch is ready. He says that he knows that he is waking us up, but the food is all made." Justin answered tiredly.

"Lunch? No breakfast?" Renesmee asked.

"Evidently, it’s almost noon." Justin told her.

Renesmee sighed.

"I honestly don’t think that my legs will allow me to walk today." Renesmee said.

"I thought so. You were really, really still in your sleep." Justin answered, "I wasn’t woken up at all."

Renesmee sighed.

"I honestly don’t think that I can move them. Even before we escaped they hurt because of the fighting session that we had the day of." Renesmee answered.

Justin stopped stroking her hair before he whispered, "that’s right. You also had to do your drills that day as well."

Renesmee nodded.

"I’ll ask Aro if you can eat in here and I’ll bring the food up here." Justin told her.

"I have to go to the washroom. I’ll test my legs and see how well I can walk." Renesmee said.

Justin helped her to sit up. Renesmee stretched out her legs and immediately regretted it. Her legs stung more, but she forced herself to stand up. The pain wasn’t there, but it wasn’t completely unforgettable either. She gently took a couple of steps, but the strain told her that was enough.

"Oww." Renesmee said weakly.

Justin just got up and gently lifted Renesmee in his arms bridal style before he then carried her to the washroom. He gently placed her on her feet and said, "I’ll wake the kids and tell them about lunch."

Renesmee answered and she then took off her underwear to go to the washroom. When she saw that Justin was still standing at the doorway, staring at her. Renesmee playfully punched him. He laughed and then shut the door to give her privacy. She shook her head and giggled herself before she sat on the toilet to do her business.

When Renesmee was finished, she stood up gently to wash her hands and she flew cold water in her face. After being fully awake, she looked at herself in the mirror. She had to smile.
