Chapter 31

"The worst thing about betrayal is that it never comes from enemies! "

My entire body was numb as I lied on the floor looking at Mrs. Sinha and the other person.

"Why? " I barely whispered trying to get up.

The person kicked me again as I landed on the floor with a thud.

"Another heartbreak for the young lady! " Mrs. Sinha smiled. 

Blood was streaming down my face as I held my stomach tightly to lessen the pain.

Mrs.  Sinha kneeled down in front of me and pulled my hair with her hands!

"Why do you defy me Kia?  I told you to stay away from Aarav.  Didn't I? You still have the guts to come in front of me and get close to Aarav! "

I didn't listen to her.  Instead I just stared at the person standing behind Mrs. Sinha. 

"Why? " I asked her again.

"Because you're taking something which is mine! " The person answered with a snarl.

"What are you talking about? "  I managed to get out of Mrs. Sinha's grip and tried to stand up.

"I love him,  Kia!  I always have!" 

"What? " I asked shocked.

"You always have to be in the way, Kia! " the person exclaimed.

Salty tears started running down my face as I saw one of my bestfriend betraying me!

Mrs. Sinha caught my arm in a painful grip and turned me towards her.

"Now,  will you stay away from Aarav or should I shoot Rian again? "

"Was she involved with you all this time? "  I had to ask.  My head was throbbing and my legs were shaking.  Blood was oozing out from head.

"Yess!"

My whole world was shattering down.  Just when I thought everything will be fine,  this happens.

"W-ow,  AUNTY!  I wasn't  involved  in the murder thing!  I was involved in sending her to Delhi!" The person defended.

"Really?  You knew I murdered her parents all along!  That's  pretty much same! " Mrs Sinha smirked.

"Stop both of you!  Just stop! " I screamed. Black dots were popping infront  of me as I swayed back and forth trying maintain my balance.

Mrs. Sinha lifted her hand to hit me again.  I closed my eyes and waited for the slap but it never came. 

I slowly opened my eyes and gasped.  Aarav was holding his mother's hand glaring at her.

"Are you alright?  I'm  soo sorry I couldn't  come to help you, I had to execute  the plan! " Trisha was crying frantically as she supported me so I wouldn't  fall! 

"Did you... " I asked meekly.

"Yess, I recorded everything.  Our plan is successful  Kia and everyone knows the truth now! "

"How dare you?  How could you mom?  Ohh wait!  You don't  even deserve that title! " Aarav said anger lacing his every word.  I had never seen him this angry!  His entire stance was rigid and he was shaking due to anger.  A vein popped out of his forehead and his eyes had turned pitch black!

"Aarav,  listen to me... " Mrs. Sinha tried to speak  but Aarav cut her off!

"No,  I don't  want to listen to anyone,  especially not you!  Rian has gone to call the cops.  You are going down Ritika Sinha! " 
I could see Mrs.  Sinha breaking down when his only son said those words.  The confident aura,  her victorious smirk was all replaced with fear and tears. 

"And you!  How could you?" Trisha said pointing at our ex- best friend Ahana.

"I... I" she was shaking with fear as she looked at Aarav's beast mode.

"Why Ahana?  I trusted you soo much! You were my bestfriend! " Aarav said his voice cracking.

"Bestfriend!  That's  what I've  always been to you Aarav!  This is the reason that pushed me to do soo much!  Do you even realize how much I love you?  The things I've  done for you?  But no.  You only want her!" Ahana said pointing towards me.
"She has used you for your money!  She tried to steal  you away from your own mother!  The only thing she ever did is hurt you! " 

We all were speechless after hearing Ahana's rant.  She wasn't  Ahana in that moment,  she was someone else.

"Ahana!.. "  I said softly.

"No.  Don't  speak up bitch! You were my bestfriend,  now,  you're  just a fucking whore who loves to play with people's  emotions!"

Those words cut me deep.  Those words literally got through me.

"Stop! Just stop! " I screamed covering my ears trying to take away those sounds away from me.  I wanted all of this to be a nightmare!  Tears were streaming down my face as I sat on the floor screaming.  I don't  know what was happening to me.  It's  like something triggered inside me because I couldn't stop crying,  I couldn't  stop screaming, I couldn't breathe. 

A pair of strong arms engulfed me pulling me towards them. 

"Shhh... Calm down Kia. I'm  here, right here! " Aarav's soothing voice calmed me down a little but I still couldn't  breathe.

"Kia,  Look at me, open your eyes Kia and look at me! " Aarav instructed.

I shook my head and continued  crying loudly, my lungs burning due to lack of oxygen. 

Aarav clamped my mouth with his hand and commanded me to open my eyes.

I opened them and looked into his brown orbs. 

"Deep breaths, Kia!  take deep breaths!"

I tried following his instructions but failed miserably.

"Kia, Look at me. Slowly inhale and then exhale. " he said in his soothing voice.

I did as I was told trying to calm myself down. 

Aarav was continuously whispering soothing things in my ear holding me tight against his chest.

"How you're  feeling now? " Aarav asked his eyes showing nothing but concern.

"Hollow! " I weakly smiled as exhaustion took over me. 
I hope this is the end,  end of me.  Blackness was overtaking me as everyone surrounded me begging me to stay conscious.  I had given up!  I had given up on me.  I wanted to die!

Last thing I saw was Mrs. Sinha and Ahana were taken away from the room by police officers.

If this was death,  trust me,  it was the best thing that happened  to me in the past three years! A peaceful bliss!
