Chapter 25

"Hell sent us the most evil disease and we humans call it love"

Flashback 2:

"Rian!  Rian Patel! Tell me the room number! " I banged my fist on the receptionist's desk.

"He is been operated right now on the fourth floor! " As soon as the words left her mouth I ran  towards the elevator. 

"Kia,  calm down.  He will be alright. " my mother said in her gentle voice trying to keep up with my pace. 

"Yess,  he will be alright! " Dad said giving me a small smile as we stepped in the elevator.

My heart was beating at an irregular  pace and my stomach was churning.   The door opened revealing  a very chaotic fourth floor.  White walls welcomed us with people walking here and there.  After searching for a few minutes in the crowd, my eyes landed on Trisha. 

I walked towards her and what I saw made my heart stop.  There was blood on Trisha's dress and hands and Rian's mother was bawling her eyes out. Ahana, Sam and Aarav were standing  around her blood on their clothes too.

"How is Rian? " my dad asked as my mother sat beside Rian's mother giving her a side hug.

"The operation is still going on! "  Rian's mother muffled.

"How did this happen?" My dad asked again.

"We were hanging.... out at a restaurant. After having lunch,  when we came out a guy came on his bike with his face covered and.... And shooted Rian in the chest! " Trisha said tears streaming down her face.

"We got him to the hospital as soon as we could! " Dad gave Trisha a hug.
" We tried to save him, Uncle." her voice was raspy.
" We really did! "

"I know Tri!  He will be fine dear, don't worry! " my dad said sternly.

Sam came beside me and held my hand and squeezing it.  I just gave her a weak smile.

"A while ago police came and we launched an F.I.R against that guy.  I saw his bike number too.  Hopefully they will find him soon."  Aarav said after a moment of silence.

My dad nodded at him and said,
"Why would a guy come out of nowhere and shoot him?  Did he fought with someone?  Did he have any enemies? "

"He is very famous in college and a star cricket player. He have many enemies, but I don't  think someone  will go this far! " Aarav said.

Just then doctor came outside the operation  theatre and we all gathered  around him.

"How is my son? " Rian's mother asked.

"He is out of danger! " The doctor smiled at us. " We will shift to him to the room and then you can meet him.

We were relieved would be an understatement.  Rian's mother was thanking gods for answering her prayers.  Ahana, Sam, Tri hugged me and dad hugged Aarav.

After waiting for 5-10 minutes, a nurse came and informed us that we can meet Rian.

As we were going to his room,  a nurse passing beside me,  stuffed a paper in my palm in such a way that nobody could see. I looked at the nurse with confusion and she gave me a smirk. She took her hand and made an action which told me to zip my mouth.

"You coming  or what? " Trisha sounded impatient.

"Umm.. You'll  go ahead,  I will just talk with the doctor about Rian's condition.  I'll  be there shortly! "
