Alina and I arrived at the venue at half past two

Alina and I arrived at the venue at half past two. The sun was out and people stumbled in and out with more shopping bags than they could carry, grabbing lunch after a morning at the mall next door.

It was a busy little diner tucked away between a mall and a hotel. As we walked in, I spotted Ali's friends seated at the end , near a window overlooking the street.

"Hey babes", she said as she signalled over to a girl with the shortest skirt I've ever seen to move over, so she could sit next to Sam.

"This is Aria and she's the best so you're welcome I got her here. You remember her from Gina's party right? Ari just grab a seat", Ali announced.

" Um..yeah", I said as a guy, I think his name was Mark, moved into the booth so I could sit my ass down.

"Of course we remember. Ryan fucked you too ?", ultra mini skirt remarked.

I bit down on my tongue to keep myself from saying something about her choice to dress provocatively because I'd tweeted multiple times about refusing to judge women based on their choice of clothing.

"No", is all I could say without making a fool out of myself by losing my temper. I was socially awkward and I did not want them to think I was a stupid sixteen year old kid. Oh and talking of Ryan, he was no where to be seen.

"Chill Jess. Not cool", Mark (I think) said, raising her brow at her. Thank you.

" Okay so Ari, this is Jessica, Rhea and Mark. You already know Sam and Vanya and Kevin won't be joining us today.", Ali said changing the topic.

Jessica, despite my dislike for her attitude and outfit, was a pretty little thing. She had striking hazel brown eyes. They were mesmerizing almost. But I didn't have a pleasant history with girls with that eye colour and I didn't like Jessica  already.

"Aria, you looked amazing at Gina's party by the way", Mark said turning his head to face me.

I could feel the blush creeping up. I was bad at handling compliments.

"So I'm not looking as good today ?", I replied with a  smile. I just needed to get talking, I'd open up eventually.

"Actually, even better", he said with a grin.

"Thanks", I laughed.

"Soo how'd you and Alina meet?", he asked and we jumped into conversation. I felt comfortable around him and eased up. Oh, and he laughed at my jokes too so I really liked him.

Mark was eighteen and he was a drummer. He was well built and had hair the colour of a raven. I noticed he had a  anchor tattooed on his wrist.

"Does it mean anything? ", I asked out of curiosity.

"Well yeah. Might sound stupid but it reminds me to always stay grounded you know ? And I used to sail up in Maine with my dad. We used to go there for the holidays. I fell in love with it", he said with a smile.

"Wow. That must be fun. I'd love to learn something new like that", I said.

"Maybe we can take a trip to Maine sometime", he said laughing. Sure. My parents would definitely let me go. Note the sarcasm.

The table was filled with lively chatter at we ordered drinks and milkshakes.

Just then, the little bell at the diner's entrance door jingled and Ryan walked in . Instantly the oxygen left my body, causing my breathing to accelerate.

"You don't like him", I reminded myself as my heart thudded with every step he took towards our table.

"Yo assholes.", he greeted. As we made eye contact, I quickly looked away. I didn't know what happened between us at the party but it was definitely not going to happen again.

He took a seat next to Jessica, she was practically drooling. I felt Mark put his arm around my shoulder. I didn't know how to feel about that. I noticed as Ryan's eyes followed the movement.

"You free after lunch babe?", I heard Jessica whisper into his ear.

"I don't know. Maybe", he replied, glancing over at me. A wave of jealously came over me. Were they together ? Was he seriously dating her ? Hazel eyed bitch.

My thoughts surprised me. I shook them off. As our drinks arrived I looked outside the window and sipped on my milkshake. I didn't care about him. He was clearly just fucking around. No. More. Fuckboys.
