It turned out that after I called the Doctor, he went and dropped Amy and Rory off on their five millionth honeymoon or something, so we had to go and pick them up.

“Do you just tell them it’s a honeymoon every time you have to leave them somewhere and go off doing who knows what?” I asked.

“Of course not, that would be rude,” the Doctor replied.

“Right, well, why do they get so many ‘honeymoons’ then?”

“Well, sometimes, I need them to be in a safe place while I go off and do something dangerous.”

“Isn’t that what I just said?”

“… No.”

“Well, where did you leave them?  Did you make sure nothing was happening on the day you left them?  Nothing dangerous?”

“I hadn’t checked.”

“What? Why not? Oh, never mind.” I sighed and I pushed my way to the monitor.  “Where did you leave them?  I’ll check it out.”

“I left them at home.”

“What?”

“Home.  Their house, that’s where they wanted to be, so that’s where I put them.”

“’Put them’?”

“You know what I meant.  Let’s just go get them.”

“Alright,” I said and set the coordinates.  We had, for once, a smooth flight and landed nicely and quietly.  I gave the Doctor a look that plainly said, “I can fly the TARDIS better than you can, and it’s my first try.”

Though of course, it wasn’t my first try.  I practice in the spare control room.  But nobody needs to know that, right?  Guys?

And nobody’s going to say anything, right?  I’m keeping my eye on you guys.  All of you.  So watch out.

I’m sorry, I was faking evil again.  I promise, I’m quite nice.  Really.

Brent came back into the console just then.  He had gone to get changed, he said, but there was no change in his clothes.

I gave him a small frown.  “What were you doing? You haven’t changed!”

“Yes I have!” He replied crossly.

“No you haven’t, though.”

“But I have.  I’m wearing different socks.”

“Why did you need to change your socks.  That’s not even… ” I gave up and sighed.

“They had water in them.”

“How do you get water in your socks?” The Doctor asked.

                “Well, they were wet.”

“Having wet socks is not the same as having water in your socks.  Trust me, I know.”

Brent gave him a funny look and proceeded to walk to the door.  “So where are we then?  Some new planet, aliens galore?  Oh, oh, wait! Is it, ooh, is it an alien spa thing?  Because I’ve always though that would be really cool.  Is it?”

“No.  No, we’re at Amy and Rory’s house.  Why would you assume it was a spa?” The Doctor asked.

“Well, I don’t know, there aren’t many places one can go with you without being attacked and I just figured, well, a spa must be safe, right?”

“You’d be surprised, actually, I went to a spa once with one of my friends – Sarah, you met her, at the Shadow Proclamation – and she was fine at the spa but I almost died.  It was good fun really.”
