Laura's POV Once we reached home I quickly got out of the car and shut the car door before Josh could make anymore 'jokes'. I ran into the house and I noticed that my mom isn't here... Josh then walked inside.
"Oh mom is on a business trip for the rest of this week and next week so she asked me to watch you." He Said.
My mood just went down because that means she might not be here for my birthday.. and If she's not then it will suck more considering it's already marking one year since my dad passed.
"So is she missing my birthday?" I Asked frowning.
Josh looked at me with a sad expression since he knows I'm thinking about Dad.
"Don't worry she'll be here ok? And it's okay to miss him you know? I miss him too." He Said while hugging me.
I hugged him back. After a couple minutes we pulled apart.
"I love you Josh and I'm glad you're my brother. Thanks for taking care of me." I Said smiling.
"I love you too Laura and I'm also glad you're my sister, and taking care of you is what people do that love each other." He Said smiling.
I engulfed him in another hug and he hugged me again too. This hug was only a quick one though. We let go after only a few moments.
"I'm going to go up to my room." I Said.
"Ok. I'll just be down here in the living room. I'm also going to invite a couple friends over later that I met last week ok?" He Said.
I nodded and then made my way up to my room. I layed on my bed and I noticed I got a text from Corbyn.
