Chapter 24

Laura's POV
"I just wanted to talk to you about last night." Jack said.

There was an awkward pause for a moment.

"I was going to actually talk to you about this earlier but I just felt so awkward." I Said honestly.

"Is that why you were acting strange when I got here?" Jack asked me with a confused expression on his face.

I just slightly nodded.

"Okay then let's sort this out." Jack said.

"Ok." I agreed.

We both sat down on my bed and there was a short moment of silence before Jack spoke.

"So I just wanted to say that, I know us almost going 'all the way' last night at the party has made things really awkward." He began saying.

"I 100% agree." I spoke.

Jack hesitated before speaking again.

"I guess the main thing I wanted to say is, I've just been wondering if what almost happened was just because you were drunk or if maybe...." he paused for a moment and looked me in the eyes.

"you actually feel something for me." Jack said hesitantly.

This took me by surprise.. I didn't expect this conversation to go this way. I thought that maybe Jack would just tell me to forget that it ever happened or something like that but instead he's asking how I feel about him..

"Jack..." I began saying.

"What is it?" Jack asked me with a concerned expression.

"I do like you, trust me. But it's just that ever since what happened between Aaron and I, I've never even considered letting feelings in for any guy, I've just feared that they might hurt me the way Aaron did." I started saying.

"I would never hurt you Laura." Jack said still looking me in the eyes.

"I know that you wouldn't Jack, see that's the thing. You're different and I don't know how, but somehow you make my fear of being hurt disappear when I'm around you. Everyday I can't help but rethink what happened between Aaron and I, but when I'm around you all of those thoughts disappear." I Said.

"I also have feelings for you too Laura." Jack said.

Him and I both started smiling.

"Laura?" Jack asked me.

"Yes?" I responded.

Jack grabbed my hands with his and looked me in the eyes.

"Laura, I'm going to ask you something and I want you to please give me your honest answer." Jack said.

"Ok I will." I responded.

"Laura, will you be my girlfriend?" Jack asked me.

I'm at loss for words. Instead I just nodded with the biggest smile on my face. He started smiling as well. He then leaned in and kissed me. This is the first time Jack and I have kissed without me being drunk. This time is special. We pulled away with literally the biggest smiles on our faces and then...

"Awwwww." Daniel and Jonah both said in unison.

"Our ship has sailed!!" Corbyn Said excitingly.

"Jaura is real!" Zach said cheeringly.

All four boys were just standing outside my room. Jack and I forgot to close the door. Jack and I both looked at each other and started laughing. We both got up from my bed and headed out of my bedroom with our hands interlocked.
