Chapter 16

Laura's POV
Once I got inside, I looked out the window and I saw all of the boys pulling out of my driveway and leaving. As I took a few steps forward, I saw Josh waiting for me. This is going to be great, note my sarcasm. I didn't even make it 15 feet inside before he started lecturing me!! Ughhh!!!

"Why the hell did you think that leaving the house without telling me where you were headed was a good idea?!" He Yelled at me.

"Ughhh you're so annoying! I already told you that I wasn't thinking okay?! Lia had to move and I wanted to hang out with my best friend before she moved away, so just drop it!!!" I Yelled back.

"No I'm not going to just drop it! You had me worried sick! I thought something bad happened to you! You wouldn't even answer my texts or calls!!" Josh yelled.

"Why do I need to tell you where I am 24/7?! It's not a big deal!" I Yelled back again.

"It is a big deal! Mom left me in charge of you and I don't want anything to happen to you!" He Yelled back.

"That's not your decision! I can take care of myself ok?!" I fired back.

"No you can't! Remember what happened between you and Aaron?! He hurt you and he fucking raped you and you're wondering why I'm worried?!" Josh yelled to me.

I just went silent. I can't believe he brought up Aaron.. that was a name that was meant to be left in the past....
I just started crying at the thought of what he did to me and how that jerk treated me. Aaron was a boyfriend that I had when I had just turned 17 and one night he drank a few too many beers while we were out partying. He pulled me into a room, locked it, and threw me on a bed and he.. you know...

The only person that knows about it is Josh because it was a month after my dad died and neither of us had the heart to tell mom since she was already dealing with the grief of losing our dad; her husband.

Josh then embraced me into a hug and I cried on his shoulder.

"I'm so sorry that I brought him up Laura.. I know it was a hard time for you." Josh began to say.

I pulled away from the hug and wiped my tears, then looked him in the eyes.

"Can you just do me a favor?" I Asked.

"Anything. What is it?" Josh asked.

"Can you stop trying to act like my dad and act more like a brother instead?" I Asked.

He just gently nodded his head.

"Thanks." I replied with a small smile as I gave him one last hug.

"You're welcome. You know I love you right?" He Asked.

"Yes I know that, and I love you too Josh." I replied.

"I have a question." Josh began to say.

"What's up?" I Asked.

"How would you feel if I threw a party and invited a bunch of people over? You could even invite some of your friends. It'll be at 8:00." Josh stated.

"I don't know. The last time I was at a party it wasn't good.." I Stated referring to Aaron.

Josh then realized why I feel so uncomfortable with the idea.
