Gavin-
She looks over at me a sudden nervousness in her eyes, she remembers.
“Zach and Austin are back,” she says suddenly, I almost don’t believe her, but she hurries off to meet them. Confirmation that she still doesn’t want to talk about it. Maybe she doesn’t even want to remember it.
I follow her and she’s standing with Austin and Zach, her back to me, talking.
“Zach, I thought we had agreed not to do it anymore.” She says her arms crossed in front of her, the hurt apparent in her voice. She’s standing a distance from Zach fear and disappointment in her eyes when she turns and I see her face. I immediately know what they’re talking about, Sarah. “I can’t do it anymore.” She says her back now to Zach. Austin standing between them as she turns back to Zach they’re face to face but about 5 feet away from each other Austin blocking both of them from each other. “I'll go insane if I have to.”
“I didn’t go to try to hurt you Chels,” Zach answers, “I went to try to fill in some missing pieces.” Chelsea’s guarded stance doesn’t move she stays stone still.
“Missing pieces?” Her voice drips sarcasm, “Yeah right. You made me promise to stop, but you’re not willing to?” she asks him staring him in the eye.
“I told you it would be better if we both tied off any loose ends and stopped looking.” He clarifies. “I was tying off my loose ends.”
“By talking to Serina?” she fires back the pain and anger back in her voice, “Again.”
“I was putting a few pieces together,” he says pleading her to believe him through his tone.
“What pieces Zach?” She demands taking a step back her hands held out as if her body is asking why. “Sarah’s puzzle isn’t even complete.”
“You said she looked startled to see us. You said she had the same nervous tics as Sarah. She looks just like Sarah. I had to see it for myself.” He answers his voice soft and careful.
“You brushed it off as coincidence the moment I mentioned it.”
“Because I thought it was a coincidence that she had the same nervous tics.” Zach answers his voice sounds completely helpless. “I never noticed her expressions.”
“You told me you though she was just startled by two strangers at her door. I told you that she was nervous because she knew us. She didn’t want us to find her.”
“I was wrong Chels!” he yells. She flinches back nervously, “Chels, I was wrong.” He says quietly, “I went back this time I saw the shocked expression, the nervous tics, and the scar on her left wrist, the bracelet covered it the last time.”
“The one Sarah got from Mist of Dreams? Night in the Alley? From when she hit her wrist on the metal fence we were supposed to jump and it broke through the skin, twice?”
“The same double X scar.” He confirms Austin and I exchange confused looks as they continue.
“So Sarah really is here?”
“Unless Serina has the same scar from something else.” Zach confirms.
“Oh Zach, that’s wonderful.” She exclaims launching herself into his arms. He stumbles back from the sudden attack but steadies himself and hugs her back stroking her hair. She pulls back a flash of disappointment crosses his face. “We have to talk to her, but how do we convince here to let us back in?”
“I don’t know,” he answers apologetically.
“Meet me back at the hotel after the evening shoot, I just got an idea.” Chelsea says heading off to get ready for the shoot.
