The last bell rang and I quickly rushed out the door and went straight for the busses. The halls were jam-packed with students, some friend, and some foe but that didn't matter all that I cared about was getting home so I could hang out with my friends afterward, where there are no teachers there to yell at us for being too loud, or for us cussing.
I passed a window that reached from the floor to the ceiling and it was splattered with big wet raindrops. Beyond that, I could see the rain pouring down from the grey sky smashing into the cars in the parking lot. The sight of the rain made me a little depressed because that meant I couldn't hang out with my friends outside. I took a deep breath and exhaled out as I completely passed the window and then pass the office. The office was empty besides from the lady sitting at the front desk staring at the computer in front of her intensely as her glasses slide down to the tip of her nose and she pushed them back up with a single long finger.
I finally made it to the front door of the school building. I pushed all my weight on the door until it opened and my body got plastered with raindrops. The rain was coming down hard soaking my hair making me look like a long-haired rat. I leaned my head forward, looking down at the ground so the rain wouldn't hit my eyes. Every now and then I would look up to make sure I wasn't going to bump into someone or that I was heading to the right bus, bus number 23. By the time I made it to my bus I was completely soaked from head to toe, even my socks were soaked as I could feel the water surround my feet and with every step the water would squish between my toes. I climbed onto the bus in a hurry and I saw rows upon rows of plain grey colored seats. I picked the first seat that was empty, seat 14 and sat in it, the seat was somewhere in the middle of the bus.
I sat there for a while eavesdropping on other peoples conversations. Some major drama was happening on the bus as I heard some girl complain to a guy that he cheated on her with another girl. Another conversation was going on as well two typical boys were talking about some 'hot' chicks and they joked about how they wished they had a girlfriend that hot. I chuckled a bit as I heard a group of friends play Truth or Dare and one dared the other to french kiss, someone. I shook my head at the conversations, such silly things, as I pulled my earbuds out of my dark blue jacket pocket and plugged them into my iPhone.
I sat and looked out the window as the rain wouldn't lit up and I watched, thinking of it as a race, as two raindrops slide down the window and I lip singed to one of my songs playing on my iPhone. I did a small headbang motion until the bus came to a rugged stop and my head swung forward almost hitting the back of the seat in front of me. I paused my music for a moment and looked out the window as best as I could to try and see what just happened. I still couldn't see anything wrong so I stood up and the first thing I noticed was that the bus had a huge dent in the front of it as if another car hit it dead on, even the hood was popped up slightly. I pulled my earbuds out of my ears and everyone was freaking out as the bus driver stood up and yelled over the commotion. "Everyone calm down! I would like for everyone to evacuate off the bus and stand on the side of the road and wait until another bus comes to pick you guys up!"
I waited until everyone got off the bus until I was the last one off and I started following everyone to the side of the road until I noticed something laying in front of the bus. It was some kind of animal but I couldn't tell what kind until it stood up as if nothing happened. It was a wolf but it wasn't like any normal wolf. It had different color patterns on its fur that no other wolf would have. Plus a normal wolf would have probably died on impact and even if the bus did hit a normal wolf it wouldn't have made such a big dent in the bus. The wolf seemed to have noticed me staring at it as it glanced into my eyes for a short moment the wolf made a small whimper noise then turned its head and ran away from me and my fellow students. I watched the wolf run further away until I felt someone tap on my shoulder and I turned my head and saw a girl that looked like she was in my grade with shorter than shoulder-length brown hair and she spoke quietly. "Whatcha looking at?" I pointed my finger in the direction of the wolf and I responded with a question of my own. "Didn't ya' see that wolf? It got up like nothin' happened." I could see the confusion written all over her face as she answered. "What are you talking about? What wolf?" I went to say something in response but one of the boy students yelled. "Hey, the bus is finally here it's about time!" A small smile grew on the brown haired girls face as she completely forgot about me and rushed over to the group of students. Before I went to catch up with them I looked in the direction the wolf ran in one more time and noticed the wolf was gone as if it just vanished. I shrugged my shoulders and walked over to the other students and then my eyes widened at the sight of the bus heading our way. Bus number 119. "This is going to be fun," I whispered to myself as I watched as everyone trudged up the steps and onto the bus.
