*Isolde POV*
I squinted my eyes tighter as the bright morning sun burnt through my eyelids and I buried my head in my arms.
"Come on Sol wake up its past twelve." I heard a friendly voice urge as I lifted my head and came nose to nose with Allifair. I gave a sleepy smile as I laid my head back down on the desk and mumbling. "Five more minutes." I had a feeling he rolled his eyes at this as he huffed. "Your mom came in here not too long ago and told me to tell you that she made breakfast." My head quickly shot up from the desk and I glanced at Allifair. "Why didn't you say something sooner!" I exclaimed as I stood up from my chair to quickly and bumped into my bedpost on my way to the door. "Oww! fuck." I managed to make it to the door, holding my hip, and swung it open and not even bothering to close it as I stumbled downstairs a little too carelessly.
"I'm up!" I called out as I walked into the kitchen and took a deep breath. 'Nothing like the smell of bacon in the morning.' I smiled to myself as I grabbed a plate. "Well, mornin' sleepy head!" My dad bellowed as he walked up behind me and ruffled my hair while reaching over and putting his plate in the sink. "Morning honey." My mom said sweetly as she laid two over-easy eggs on my plate and a stack of only two pancakes. "Thanks for the grub mom," I commented as I grabbed a few pieces of bacon and sat down at the dining table. I scarfed the delicious food down as I dipped my last piece of bacon into the pancake syrup. 'That was so good' I thought as I laid my hand on my stomach and breathed slowly. 'Maybe I shouldn't eat so fast?' I finally stood up and put my plate away in the sink washing some of the syrup off.
I walked back up to my bedroom and noticed Allifair sitting in the middle of the room with his tail wagging back and forth. "Did you bring any food?" He asked as he stood up and walked toward me sniffing the air. I rubbed the back of my neck. "Sorry I sort of forgot." Allifair sighed in frustration as he looked at the ground. "Looks like you don't care about me after all." I raised my hands up in front of me and spoke. "Now hold on, mom knows about you now so maybe I can ask her to make you something." Allifair's tail started to wag again as he smiled. "What are we waiting for then." I smiled back and turned around to head downstairs when I saw Allifair fly past me and into the kitchen. I wanted to shout out 'No Running' but I figured that would draw attention so I kept my mouth shut as I made it to the bottom of the stairs and noticed mom was sitting in the living room on her computer. 'Dad must be in the bathroom or something.' I think as I glance over at his computer desk and see his chair empty. I shrug my shoulders and walk up to my mom.
I cleared my throat as my mom glanced up at me. "What is it, sweety?" She asked in her normal gentle voice as I responded with my own question. "You remember Allifair right?" She narrowed her eyes at me as she answered. "Of course I do. What about him?" I took a gulp feeling awkward for asking. "He's hungry can you make him some breakfast or something?" She turned her entire chair in my direction as she sighed. "Fine, I'll make him some bacon but nothing more." I nodded my head as I followed her to the kitchen and watched her grab the bag of thick cut bacon from the bottom shelf of the fridge. She turned the burner onto medium and we waited for the cast iron pan to heat up as we stood quietly.
"So, whats your problem with Allifair?" I asked hesitantly as she turned her head over to me and spoke quietly. "I just don't want you to get hurt or worse."
"Allifair gave you his word that he will protect me but yet it seems like you still don't trust him, why?" I asked as my mom looked back at the cast iron and laid the first piece of bacon in the pan. "I guess it's because I don't know who he is and the thought of you being out there with a stranger gets me worried," she said over the sound of the bacon sizzling. I rolled my eyes and scoffed. "Mom, I'm a teenager, not a little girl I can take care of myself." My mom seemed to smile at this as she looked over at me and smirked. "Says the one that asked me to cook something for you instead of doing it yourself." I opened my mouth to say something until I closed it again and crossed my arms over my chest and leaned against the counter beside the oven.I listened to the bacon sizzle in the pan as mom and I stayed silent until I heard a voice complain. "Hurry up will ya! I'm dying over here." I looked down at Allifair as he was stretched out on the floor making small groaning noises. "You'll just have to be patient." My mom responded looking a bit irritated. I stayed quiet as I watched my mom lay the last piece of bacon on a paper plate and handed it to me. I smiled and thanked her as I motioned for Allifair to follow me back up to my bedroom.
I laid the plate of bacon on the floor as Allifair didn't hesitate to dig in. He didn't even smell it. He looked up at me licking his lips. "I wasn't expecting this cooked food to taste so good." He smiled up at me. "Can I have more?" I shook my head. "No more, I'm sure the little bit you just ate will last you until you eat again." Allifair had a sad look in his eyes as he looked down and mumbled. "Ok, fine." That sad look quickly disappeared when his head popped up and his tail started to wag a little. "That wolf drawing you worked on last night, turned out really good by the way."
"Oh yeah, I forgot I drew that last night," I said as I walked over to my desk and picked up the drawing. "your right Allifair, this drawing is pretty good isn't it?" I took my eyes away from the drawing and glanced down at Allifair as he nodded his head."Hey Sol, don't you have to go to school today?" I furrowed my eyebrows as I responded. "Of course not, its Sunday, our third day of knowing each other." Allifair cocked his head to the side as I explained. "You really don't know much about humans. I only have to go to school Mondays through Fridays I don't have any school on Saturdays and Sundays. Those days are like my days off" He seemed to understand this as he nodded his head. "Oh, I get it. So for now on while you're at school I can be with my family and once you come back from school we can hang out, spend the rest of the day together." He perked up and gave a toothy smile. "No, actually I think you should go home right now," I demanded as Allifair stood up and stomped his front paw to the ground. "Why not?"
"Because your mom is probably worried sick, and me and my friends normally hang out on the weekends," Allifair grunted at this as he glanced up at me with a hint of hate but more sadness than anything. "Fine, I'll go home. Just come and find me if you need me. You know where I'll be." I nodded my head as I walked Allifair to the front door and opened it. "Get home safely, ok Allifair."
"Yeah, I'll be fine since no one can see me." He grumbled as he passed me and ran in the direction of the forest. Just before I was about to close the door I noticed two familiar faces walking towards my house. One was a girl with shoulder-length black hair and the other was a tan boy with blonde hair wearing a red plaid shirt. I smiled and waved at them. "Hey girl!" The black haired girl shouted as the blonde boy commented. "Long time no see Sol!"*??? POV*
The pack and I started to head back to base our paws thudding against the cold ground, the snow piling up between our claws. I barely shivered in the cold wind as we picked up the pace our home in sight. Everyone behind me cheered as they continued to push forward cheering loudly, happy to be one step closer to home until the ones left there to protect our home was laying on the ground. The pack slowed down before we slowly came to a halt. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes as I walked up to one of the bodies and sniffed it. The smell was rotten, dead. I walked around and nudged a fallen wolves head as it just fell back to the ground with a soft thump.
I looked back up at my pack and noticed that everyone had split up and went to check on their own family members. I heard a high pitched scream come from a near den as my ears perked up and I rushed over to help. I walked into the den and saw three baby wolves laying lifelessly on the cold snow. Their limp bodies torn and bloody with deep teeth marks around their necks. Tears tugged at my eyes but I managed to hold them back as I turned my head to the right and noticed a pack member, the mother, laying on the ground screaming as tears wetted the fur around her eyes.
"I have a pretty good idea who did this, for now, be strong and help me send a message to the others."
"What shall I say?" She asked as she stood back up on shaky legs, her voice quivering with fear and anger. "Tell everyone to meet up in the forest." She tilted her head as she asked. "The forest, why?
"If it's who I think it is we're going to need the Blood Wolves help to stop him for good. No more will the Rogue Wolf harm our pack. I'm putting a stop to this once and for all even if that means taking him down alone."
"But sir the trip there will take a day maybe more." I glanced back over and down at the three bloodied bodies and scowled."I don't care how long it will take the Blood Wolves are the best chance we have. We must get there as fast as possible."
