*Isolde's POV*
"Why are you coming with me, Sol?" Allifair asked as I walked slowly beside him. "I figured I could help you, you know, search for Dusk."
"Mom put you up to this didn't she?"
"Yes, but I did want to come with I want to know if Dusk is safe too and because I don't feel at home with everyone else in the pack I decided to tag along." Allifair looked down as if he was guilty for some reason as we walked in silence until Allifair spoke in an apologetic voice. "I'm sorry Sol,"
"For what?" I asked. "forgetting you in this mess. You could be living a normal teenage girl life but instead, you're helping me search for Dusk to make sure he's safe from him, from a monster." Al sighed deeply as he repeated himself. "I'm sorry for everything, Sol."
"Don't apologize my life was boring before you showed up. My life used to consist of worrying about homework and grades along with getting a boyfriend, now I'm wandering around the woods with you and I joined a pack of wolves that no one else can see but those who have The Sight." Allifair looked up at me and awkwardly smiled as we fell silent again and continued the search for Dusk.*30 Minutes Later*
"Where is he?" I asked as my feet began to ache from the walking. "Were almost there, stop your complaining. I know Dusk better than anyone he hides in the same place every time."
"And where is that?"
"He normally goes to a high place..." Allifair stopped talking and was looking up into the leaves of the trees. "What are you staring at?" I asked as I followed his gaze up and saw a small ball of black and a strip of red fur curled up on a branch. "Is that..."
"Dusk? Yep." Allifair finished for me as he walked towards the trunk of the tree that Dusk was up in."You're in a new spot this time!" Allifair shouted up to Dusk as I saw a small head rise from the ball of black fur. The small body stood up and jumped down to the next branch, not even hesitating on how high he was up. The branches shook from the weight of his body slamming down on each branch until he finally reached the ground landing with a deep thud.
"What do you want?" Dusk asked as he glanced up at Allifair then me. The way Dusk looked made him seem older, made him seem a bit scary and less cute as he glanced at Allifair as Allifair started to explain. "Things have been happening around here and I wanted to make sure you were okay and Sol came along because she was also worried about you too." Dusk glanced over at me when Al spoke my name until his eye reverted to the ground.
"What's the matter Dusk?" I asked as I got down on my knees. He didn't even look up at me, he just continued to stare at the grass under his feet.
"I was..." Dusk started to say quietly until a black mist surrounded his feet and his head shot up his eyes wide as he screamed in pain, giving me a massive headache from the sudden cry. The agony Dusk was feeling must have been strong enough as he dropped to the ground still screaming, making my ears ring as Dusk's cries echoed. "My Legs! I Cant Feel Them!" There was a strange black smoke, a mist that circled Dusk's legs as it reached up to his chest causing him to scream louder. All the screams of agony made me almost want to faint as my brain seemed to be pounding harder against my skull.
"DUSK!" Allifair yelled over his screams as he took a step closer towards Dusk. The mist reacted to Allifair's movement negatively as the mist seemed to make a hand and swatted Allifair away with ease as if Allifair was nothing more than just a pesky, old, house fly.
Allifair went flying and slammed into a nearby tree, landing hard on the ground. Bones must have been broken as he couldn't get back on his feet. He laid there groaning as he strained to look back at Dusk only to see him completely covered in the black mist. Dusk! Dusk! DUSK!" Allifair continuously screamed as the mist became thick enough to where we couldn't even see Dusk's tiny body anymore, Dusk's screams became silent. 'Dusk stopped screaming.' I thought but I didn't know if that was a good thing or not.
