Pounding feet, breathing heavy, pumping veins and straining muscles; every part of their bodies were working hard. They raced through the hallway, and the groans of the undead were their backing track as they ran.

"We're nearly there! We can do it!" He wanted to reassure his friends, including the girl who still clutched at his hand. He gave it a squeeze and sent a gentle smile her way. Amara felt her mind ease somewhat, and she knew that somehow they might be okay.

Even if being okay meant living in a world with deadly beings.

All they had to do was find somewhere safe. Somewhere that the undead could never get to. But was there such a place? She had only awoken a few hours ago, and it seemed she was the only one who wasn't aware of the state of the world, now.

The more she thought about it, the more she came to realise that the members of Bts knew more than she did. How long had they known about the undead? What was their little town like? Was everyone she knew okay?

New worries overcame her, and she didn't realise everyone had stopped running. They were in an empty hallway, and the exit was just in front of them. They let out yells of excitement, but they stopped once again when they heard the groans behind them had multiplied.

Turning slowly around, they halted, and their hearts dropped to the soles of their feet. An overwhelming feeling of dread grew in their chests.

A hoard of zombies was now lumbering towards them. Their arms hung limply by their sides, and their gaits were slightly tilted. Rotten flesh curled at the edges, displaying the blackened bone underneath, and the stench only worsened as they got closer to the group.

"G-guys," Amara spoke up, just loud enough for them to hear. "Go! Run! Get away from here, and I'll stall them."

Namjoon's face became even more stricken, and he grabbed her shoulders, making her confront him. His eyes crinkled at the corners in concern when he saw the look on the girl's own face.

"Are you crazy? You can't Amara!" Luckily, they had a few minutes before the zombies would get to the group. "If they get you, you'll be torn to shreds!"

He then leant towards her. "You can't do this. We've just only met, but I can't lose you. You're one of us now and we don't leave anyone behind." The other guys nodded in agreement.

Amara felt the tears welling up again, and she let them slide down her cheeks. At this moment, she felt happy knowing that there were people who actually cared about her, but that wasn't enough..."It's okay... Nobody outside of this building will miss me, anyway."

She tore her hands from Namjoon's grip and backed away until she felt herself walk into the wall.

Then before anyone could stop her, she slammed the doors shut and put a broom in the door's handle, stopping the zombies' advances.

She swivelled her head around and shouted at the dumbfounded guys behind her, "go now!"

Namjoon hesitated and made to go towards her, but was pulled back by Jin. Then, with one last look at the struggling girl, he ran from the building. His face was the last thing she saw before the door gave way.

The zombies surrounded her, leaving her with nowhere to go...
