Hoseok's body lay motionless on the ground and Amara couldn't find it within herself to look away. Guilt weighed her down, and if it weren't for her still being bound to the beam above, she was sure that by now she would have collapsed. This was all her fault.

If she hadn't stopped Namjoon from hurting Taeyong, and if she hadn't convinced him to follow the other male back to his hideout, none of this would've happened. Their friends wouldn't have been hurt, and Hoseok would still be alive.

It was all her fault.

In all of her life, she had never felt as hopeless as she did now. Strength had left her body ages ago, and without a weapon, there was no way for her to free herself. All she could do was watch as the crazed man before her killed her friends one by one.

An evil glint shone in Taeyong's eyes as he raised the gun once more and placed it against the second bound male. Amara choked on the scream that was struggling to be let out, and snapped her head to the side, as she waited for the sound of the gunshot. Yet, it never came. Instead, there was a grunting sound, and the clattering of the gun as it hit the concrete floor.

Now facing forwards, Amara was surprised to see Yuta holding down Taeyong, while Doyoung kicked the gun so it was out of the leader's reach. The three males struggled for a moment, and then Taeyong was left lying face down on the ground with his arms bound behind his back. Completely out cold.

Before she could come to terms with what had just happened, Amara was helped down by Lucas, who kept his arm about her waist so she wouldn't topple over.

Rubbing her wrists, suspicion coursed through her, and she glared at the ones who had taken down Taeyong. Opening her bruised lips, she questioned, "why did you help us? Isn't he your leader?"

Doyoung, who was still pressing a knee into Taeyong's back, exchanged glances with Yuta and replied, "we... we had a discussion and decided that Taeyong was no longer fit to be the leader."

Yuta stepped forward and explained, "Taeyong wasn't always like this. He was more amicable and a great leader, but when we found the woods that surround this house, and some of our group was bitten, he went mad."

Seeing that his friend couldn't continue further, Doyoung clasped him on the shoulder, and explained further, "from countless movies and shows, we knew that the only way to kill a zombie was through the brain. So we all decided to do the right thing by our turned friends and put them out of their misery. But one person disagreed, Taeyong. He came up with the idea of tying them up and hiding them away in the room upstairs. As our leader, we didn't dare to go against what he said, and reluctantly agreed."

"Then you guys appeared, and Hacchan was bitten. This drove Taeyong over the edge and he devised the plan to capture you, and make you watch as he killed your friends in front of you." Doyoung moved closer to her, and said, "we couldn't let him carry through with his plan, and came up with our own to stop him."

Amara, with the help of Lucas, moved forward until she was in front of Taeyong. A mixture of pity and anger swirled about her chest, as she looked down at the man who killed her best friend.

"Hobi!" She sobbed as she rushed to his side: no longer caring about her injuries.

Injuries that she had received would heal within time, and she would continue living on, but Hoseok would never heal. The bullet had buried deep, resulting in instant death.
