DUMATING SINA Caleb sa lugar na sinabi sa sulat. It was an abandoned mansion in the middle of nowhere in an unfamous barrio from the outskirts of North Luzon.
Magdidilim na nang dumating sila. When Caleb checked his wrist watch, it said 6:45. Perfect time for thriving demons and blood thirsty vampires.
Naunang bumaba sina Gideon at pinkahuli si Caleb. Gideon, Chloe and Daniel had their wings out and are very much ready for a hard and surprise fight. While Caleb on the other hand, being just a human, was armed with guns loaded with silver and UV bullets fro werewolves and vampires. He also has a specially made weapon designed to kill demons. The two short curved rapier with platinum handles bear the symbol of The Watchers. The blades were emblazoned with words and verses from the bible. They call the weapon as Hamahvet's Dagger. Platinum and silver daggers were placed all over Caleb's body for easy access in case any creature of the dark attacks him. He can't afford to get hurt.
"Go behind me. I go in first, you follow." Gideon started throwing instuctions to the three of them especially him. "You Caleb, walk in the middle and stay ready. Remember, you're a human now, you're an easy target. Got it?"
Caleb rolled his eyes and did not say anything.
Gideon, Daniel, Chloe and Caleb quietly slipped through the entrance of the old mansion with their weapons hot and ready. This isn't a mansion, this is termites holding hands, Caleb thought to himself as he followed behind Gideon and Chloe. Daniel was tailing behind him. Nakaumang ang baril niya at handang iputok iyon sa kung sino mang halimaw ang susulpot at aatake. Hindi na nakatulong na napakadilim ang buong mansiyon. Tanging siwang lamang sa luma at itim na mga kurtina ang nabibigay ng kaunting liwanag sa paligid.
Caleb stopped himself from scrunching his nose. The place smelled old and rotten. It smelled heavily of dust. Perfect place for a demon's hideout.
They continued to go deeper on the haunted and dark mansion.
Pero hindi inaasahan ni Caleb susunod na nangyari.
May narinig siyang tunog ng tila paglangitngit. The next thing knew, they were being attacked by lots and lots of demons coming from everywhere.
Demons are elemental evil creatures that possesed human bodies in order for it be animated. Thus, they are in human form but are five times stronger than a normal and healthy human male.
All four of them kept thrashing and cutting all over the place. Not caring what they hit as long as it's a demon.
Kahit isang tao na lamang si Caleb ay naipamalas pa rin naman niya ang kakayahan bilang isang mandirigma. At least his abilities are kept with him.
"Caleb, duck!"
Mabilis na nakuyuko si Caleb bago humhagibis na dumaan sa taas ng kanyang ulo ang isang silver dagger na nanggaling kay Daniel. The dagger went straight to a demon's forhead knocking it down. "Thanks," Caleb nodded at his brother.
"'Welcome. Now, fight some more!"
AUTUMN WAS as weak as a dried vegetable.
Bakit hindi, eh, halos isang araw na siyang hindi nakakakain. Tubig lamang ang naipapasok sa katawan niya at hindi iyon sapat para mawala ang kanyang gutom. The hunger pangs kept on coming for hours and hours already and the pain was just too much.
Kahit gustong-gusto ni Autumn na umiyak ay pinigila niya ang sarili. Imbes, bumulong siya ng isang maiksing panalangin. Iyon lamang ang isang bagay na nagtutulak sa kanya para hindi mawalan ng pag-asa.
Being locked up in a rusting cage for three days is too much for a human's sanity. Not to mention the squabbling noises coming from the demons and vampires that were guarding her. Maya't-maya pa siyang pilit inaabot ng mga bampira na tila hayok na hayok sa kanyang dugo.
Tila hanggang ngayon ay nanaginip pa rin si Autumn. How she wished that this was just a very very bad dream and nothing real.
Her abduction three days ago was a big shocker to Autumn.To anyone put in her place for that matter. Akala niya ay nananaginip lamang siya. Pero nang magising siya pagkatapos mawalan ng malay ay tila sinuntok sa sikmura si Autumn. It was happening indeed.
"Getting comfy there darling?"
Nanindig ang balahibo ni Autumn nang marinig ang nakakakilabot na tinig na iyon mula sa labas ng railing na cage kung saan siya bihag.
Naaaninag ni Autumn ang malaking bulto ng lalaking nagsalita. It wasn't the first time that she heard that raspy and creepy voice. Sa kanyang tatlong araw na pagiging bihag ay ito ang tanging nakikipag-usap sa kanya.
Autumn didn't know what kind of creature of the dark he is but she's sure that he was nothing but bad. "I-I'm hungry."
Pagkaraan ng ilang sandali na pananahimik ay may gumulong na plastic na tila naglalaman ng tinapay at botelya ng mineral water papasok sa kulungan ng dalaga. Agad iyong kinuha ni Autumn. Somehow for the past few days, they manage to lock her up and keep her alive for three days by feeding her in that manner. At kahit lagkit na lagkit na si Autumn ay hindi niya iyon isinasaboses dahil ipinagpapasalamat niya na kahit papaano ay pinapakain pa siya ng mga ito. Not that she was grateful. They are still demons and very much evil.
Tahimik na kumakain si Autumn nang muling nagsalita ang lalaking boses na iyon. "May sorpresa ako mamaya sa 'yo, Autumn. We will be having some visitors later. You won't talk so I decided to invite some friends over." There was a hint of evil amusement in the voice that gave Autumn a chill. Tila iba ang nais nitong iparating sa salitang 'friend'. "You know, those informations you have about The Watchers are quite a handful. So if you change your mind, why don't you just talk and let us save some time, no? What do you think, darling?"
"I-I don't care." Autumn manage to croak out some words out of her sandstorm throat.
"I wonder if you'd still say that after I have them over. Let's wait and see shall we?" Sinundan iyon ng papalayo at nakakalokong halakhak.
Autumn sqeezed herself on the corner-most part of the cell. Muling sinakop ng takot ang kanyang puso. For the past few days, fear had been dominating her system.
Autumn really prayed that this would all end. Soon.
