PAWIS NA pawis si Caleb habang iniikot ang tingin sa paligid niya. Somehow, the four of them finished up almost thirty demons.
Sloppy carcasses scattered everywhere. It was just too much that Caleb almost lost his bearings.
Hindi alam ni Caleb kung gaano si katagal na nakikipaglaban pero ngayon humuhulas na ang adrenaline sa kanyang sistema ay tila siya nauupos na kandila.
Caleb never felt like this before when he was still a Watcher. Now, he could really feel the difference.
"You okay, bro?"
Binalingan ni Caleb si Gideon. He was cleaning of the goo that was dripping from his sword. It was from the demons that his brother managed to kill. "Yep. The adrenaline's wearing off and I feel like pool of mush."
"Some human perks eh?" Daniel grinned at him like a hyena.
"Perks, my ass. More like a curse. I hate feeling like this."
"Get used to it. Now, let's move. We have a human girl to save," Gideon said grimly.
Dahil sa sinabing iyon ni Gideon ay tila binalikan ng lakas si Caleb. His brother was right. Kailan pa nilang iligtas si Autumn at wala dapat silang sinasayang na panahon.
Maya-maya pa ay nagtuloy-tuloy na sila sa pagpasok ng palalim sa napakaling mansiyon. Somehow, Caleb's eyes managed to adjust his vision in the dimly litted place. Sana ay huwag lamang biglaang umilaw ang paligid.
As if on cue sa iniisip ni Caleb ay biglang lumiwanag ang paligid. Caleb was disoriented for a moment. Urgh! Some human weakness.
Nang luminaw ang paningin ni Caleb at nanlaki ang kanyang mga mata. Bakit hindi, eh, napapalibutan sila ng napakaraming bampira. Not demons but vampires. The hissing and scratching that the creatures make are definitely giving Caleb a chill.
Caleb hated vampires. The last time he encountered one, he nearly lost his life as well as Autumn.
"Oh shit."
Caleb could hear the muttering of curses from his mates. It seems like he was not the only one who felt like it.
Caleb firmly gripped the silver dagger in his hand and the other one was tightly holding a gun loaded with UV bullets. His weapons are hot and he's very much ready to engange if any single one of them moves a muscle.
When one of the vampires advanced, that signaled the start of another battle. Caleb was firing his gun left and right was slashing and cutting at the same time.
Blood was pounding in Caleb's ears as he continues to fight them off with what remains of his energy.
"ENOUGH!!!"
Everything that was happening on that hall stopped.
Caleb lashed the throat of the vampire he was holding before turning his head to where that booming voice came from. Nanggaling ang boses mula sa isang madilim na bahagi ng hall. Caleb can't even make out the figure.
Natigil silang apat at ganoon din ang lahat ng buhay pang bampira.
To Caleb's surprise, the vampires backed away from them. All of the vampires were still hissing at the four them with such fury in their red eyes.
Sumunod na narinig ni Caleb at tunog ng paglagatik ng sapatos sa marmol na sahig. After a few seconds, a huge figure emerged before them.
Caleb clenched his fists at the sight of the creature that abducted his Autumn.
Sa harap nila ay nakatayo ang isang matangkad at namumtlang lalaki. The man stood with such confidence and bearing an aura full of darkness and pure evil. The pair of red eyes that the creature possessed proved Caleb's thoughts earlier.
