Those were the parting words of Gideon before he, Daniel, and Chloe went off to Mt. Ararat to attend the hearing that they will be facing before the Committee of Guardians.
Dahil isa na lamang tao si Caleb ay hindi siya makakasama sa paglilitis. But Caleb will be kept in tab with what will happen after the hearing. Tutal ay parte siya ng paghihiring na iyon.
Caleb pleaded and appealed before the Committee of Guardians to reconsider his case. Kahit sa huli man lang na pagkakataon ay maipaglaban niya ang kanyang pagka-Watcher. He could survive as a human but he will never be whole again. Being a Watcher was the purpose of his existence and it will always be a part of him.
"Hey."
Mula sa pagtingin sa veranda ng kanyang kwarto ay napabaling si Caleb sa pinaggalingan ng boses na iyon. It was Autumn. "Hey, babe." Ibinalik ni Caleb ang tingin sa kawalan.
She felt Autumn's arms wrap around his waist. She was hugging him from behind.
"How are you feeling?" Mahinang tanong nito. Caleb could feel her cheek against his back.
"Nervous like you can't imagine. I'm praying so hard that the hearing would give a good result. I'm nervous for myself and for the guys."
"How can I help to ease your nervousness?"
Napangiti si Caleb dahil sa sinabi ng dalaga. Tumalikod siya at hinarap ito. "Yes. You can do something to ease my nervousness." Hinapit niya ito papalapit siya kanya.
Ngingiti-ngiti ang dalaga dahil sa sinabi niya. "How?" Ikinawit ng dalaga ang mga braso sa leeg niya. Mas lalo pa nitong idinikit ang katawan siya kanya.
Caleb grunted inwardly. Inilapit niya ang labi sa tenga nito pagkataos ay bumulong. "You can kiss me."
Autumn giggled. "Easy like one, two, three." She tiptoed then planted a loud kiss on his cheek.
"No. Not like that," Caleb groaned and then captured Autumn's lips for long and deep kiss.
Caleb explored one more Autumn's sweet lips that he missed for such a long time. He nipped her lower lip and then suckled it gently which made Autumn whimper.
He gripped her waist firmly and held the back of her head to find the perfect angle for him to delve into that sweet cavern.
Ilang sandali silang naghahalikan nang maramdaman ni Caleb na nagangalay na si Autumn. She was too short for him so he decided to pick her up. He held her butt and raised her.
Nagulat si Autumn sa ginawa niya pero sandali lamang iyon. She continued kissing him while wrapping her legs around his waist. Humigpit din ang kapit nito sa leeg niya.
Caleb could feel himself burning up. Ganoon katindi ang epekto sa kanya ni Autumn. Ganoon katindi ang epekto sa kanya ng babaeng iniibig niya.
"I love you very much, babe. More than my life. I'd give anything for your happiness," Caleb whispered against Autumn's swollen lips.
"I love you too, babe. Super," nakangiting sabi sa kanya ng dalaga.
"Did you just call me'babe'?" Panunukso ni Caleb dito.
Nahihiyang isinubsob ni Autumn ang mukha sa leeg ng binata. "It doesn't suit me, does it?"
Caleb chuckled. "It's perfect, babe. I love it." He rubbed her back. "Thak you for making me feel better."
"Anything for you, Cal. Anything."
Caleb smiled at the girl in front of him. His heart seemed to glow with love for her. "You'd still love me even if my eyes aren't blue enymore?"
"I like your eyes before. But I like black just the same. It doesn't really matter, Cal. My love for you sees no imperfections."
"And my love for you knows no boundaries."
