Hae-ju
After my lunch was eaten, I drove to the cafe where Dalnim usually ate, in hope to find her before, she insisted on walking to her car like the stubborn person she was.
When I found her standing outside, she faced a man, with her head turning about ready to vomit it seemed I quickly placed the car in park and jumped out.
There before her stood a flasher, in his beige knee length winter coat, as he anticipated and read the uncomfortable look Dalnim gave he opened up his coat, and stood there, while Dalnim looked around her, hiding her side profile in order to walk around him, but rather than let her, the perverted old man continued to block her path.
" Don't you have anything better to do?" I asked the old man as I grabbed him by the coat collar from the back.
" Ahh, watches, watches I'm selling watches!" He yelled before fully turning towards me but by reflex I covered up my face in defense as well, before I adjusted my shoulder and taking a look. The old man had a store hidden within his coat, consistent of watches and things alike.
I tsked and shook my head in annoyance at the unneeded attention he gathered towards himself.
" God never let me be so broke as to do a thing and I'll go back to church. " I mumbled as I reached for Dalnim's hands and led her to the car.
The old man from behind shot a bird towards my back, I saw him from the near by car side mirror my eyes provided me.
Yet I couldn't help but to keep walking, for his sake I wouldn't bring harm to someone that looked as if he aged more than my father.
" You perverted old man, this is how you sell watches instead of renting store?" I asked while walking away as I gave a dry cough and adjusted Dalnim's hand away from her face.
" You insist on walking alone yet here you are scared of an old man." I mumbled as I pulled her along to the car, though she dragged her feet.
She sat willingly yet quiet for a few minutes before she mumbled under her breath, as I slowed down for the oncoming redlight.
" You act big and tough but I saw you flinch too." She mumbled. I looked away as I cleared my throat and drove towards the bar where she left her car the night prior.
" Did you have lunch with your boyfriend? "
I asked out of fun. She scoffed and shook her head. " you're drowning in amusement at the want of prying into my personal life." She finally said as she took off her seatbelt. My lips twitched and I shook my head in annoyance. " Ah, there's no point in amusing you anyways, your life has nothing I should interest myself in getting into."
She rolled her eyes and said:" well than sir act as if you aren't dying to hear my life story." and stepped out of the car. With her keys ready in hand she walked towards the car.
" Thank you." She finished as she began to open her car door.
" Just like that? That's all I get? You aren't going to even pay me back for getting you to your car?... safely at that." I asked her from my car window, as she gazed confused at me, with a drunkard's stare of shock.
" Did I ask you to bring me to my car?" She asked once more. I looked away before looking at her, in annoyance to her sass.
" Alright, lock the car, get back in I'll take you back to the cafe I'm sure your boyfriend can bring you back for your car, if not him the Seoul bus system is very helpful. " I mocked before taking off my belt, to depart from my car as I walked towards her in order to get her back inside the car.
