~Chapter Forty-One~

When Keith and I reentered the control room, everyone paused to look at us but quickly returned their focus to the task at hand. Keith and I sat further away from the others and intently listened in on the plan. A few hours had passed and a loud snore surprises me. I turn around and find Hunk completely out cold in his chair. I was staring at him for less than a few seconds, and he suddenly awoke with a gasp and quickly sat up in his chair.

"W-What?! What did I miss?!" He cried out, catching the others attentions.

"Oh nothing important. We've just figured out a way to defeat Zarkon." Lance casually replied with a smirk.

"Really?! I dozed off for ten minutes and you already came up with a plan to defeat the forces of evil?!" Hunk asked as he sat up in his chair.

"You've been asleep for three hours." Pidge announced and a blush spread across Hunk's features.

I smiled as I watched them, but It quickly faded as I could feel Allura's gaze pass over me once again. I hugged myself and leaned closer towards Keith. He looked down at me in worry and placed his hand on the center of my back and slowly rubbed it, to comfort me. I released a sigh and looked up to him with a weak smile.

"I think we've got something here." Shiro says as he and Kolivan looked up at the hologram map of Zarkon's ship, making everyone go silent and focus on them.

"It's dangerous and there's a lot of moving parts, but if we can coordinate everything just right-" Shiro began but stopped when Kolivan placed his hand on Shiro's shoulder.

"Zarkon's reign will come to an end, and the savagery that's poisoned our universe can finally be cleansed. You've done it Shiro." Kolivan says while turning to face Shiro and nodding.

"We did it together." Shiro says while extending his hand out to Kolivan who hesitated before grabbing it and firmly shaking his hand.

"As long as we stick to the plan, it should work." Allura firmly said, making me flinch.

"It will work. Perhaps then you will see that not all Galra are as bad as Zarkon." Kolivan retorted as he returned her glare to her.

"S-So what's the plan?" Hunk asked to break the tension.

"The plan is amazing!" Lance exclaimed as he ran over to the hologram and smiled.

"First, we infect Zarkon's ship with a virus. Then we make and extra-large wormhole and lure Zarkon inside of it, zapping him a bajillion light years away!" We all stared at Lance as he played out the plan step by step with the help of the holograms.

He then ran over and grabbed onto one of the other screens and dragged it back to the middle. A hologram of the full ship appeared and he proudly looked at it.

"Then when he pops out on the other side, all like 'oh why isn't my ship working?', Voltron kicks butt!" He exclaimed as he pretended to swat at the air as if he was fighting, and I let out a quiet laugh.

Kolivan slowly backed up to where Keith and I were and leaned down close to my ear. I shifted my face slightly to look at him in question.

"I-is he always like this?" He whispered as he looked between Keith, Lance and I.

I let out a small giggle and Keith looked at me with a relieved smile as I nodded my head to Kolivan.

"Yeah, pretty much." I answer with a smile and soft voice and Kolivan stood up straight once again and nodded his head as he stared at Lance.

"Whoa....so....this is really it?" Hunk mumbled, and everyone went silent.

'T-The end of the road, huh? Does that mean we get to go home after this? I mean...I love it here with everyone, but at the moment...I feel like a stranger on the ship i've spent way to much of my time in.' I think to myself as I back into the wall and make myself as reserved as possible.
