Dream; Thomas- The Scorch Trials

15; So, what's your plan?

A/N: So this is the last chapter of Dream guys! Enjoy!

No Ones POV

Carina walked silently around the destroyed camp- rummaging through the debris to find supplies needed for the journey ahead. She couldn't believe the loss they had suffered the previous night and was still trying to comprehend that Aris, Sonya and Minho were gone. Teresa had betrayed them- she knew something was off with her but when they reached the camp- Carina felt care-free, safe, secure and she beat herself up about it silently- if only she had told someone about Teresa's suspicious ways then everyone could've been safe.

"You okay?" Thomas said as he came and sat beside her where she remained away from the rets of the group. Carina knew that Thomas had an inkling about what she was thinking but was too afraid to ask precisely.

"I know what you're really asking" she said with a small smile. Thomas just sighed and looked out to the rubble.

"You don't have to tell me" he said even though the curiosity was eating him alive.

"I wasn't meant to get sent into the maze" Carina said after a while of silence.

Thomas looks over at her in confusion. "I thought that's what they prepped you for?" he asked gently.

"No, I was a separate experiment you could say- completely different from the maze trials. They had found that working certain individuals to the utter most their body could handle increased the production of the enzyme they harvested- they had tried it a few occasions before but the kids usually died from fatigue or fright in the simulations" Carina started to explain to Thomas.

"So after all...that, Why'd you get put in the maze?" Thomas asks

"I failed the programme- something happened to me that meant my body couldn't withstand the trial anymore and WICKED were not happy at all" she says hoping he would catch on; not wanting to say the words aloud.

"You got pregnant" he whispered

"We were 16 Tommy, I was 16 and pregnant with your baby" Carina said numbly. Thomas was in obvious distress but she dared not look at him.

"So they took it away- I didn't even know about it until they told me and because my body was weaker after the.. operation, they sent me into the maze- not wanting the waste my blood as I was no longer perfect enough for the original trials" Carina finished and sniffed- sleeves quickly wiping away tears from her face.

Thomas didn't reply for a while after that, Carina figured that he was still processing it all as it was a hefty piece of knowledge to take in.

"Did I know?" he whispered

"You found out the day I went into the maze- you were banging on the glass in the lab" Carina muttered in response. not realising how much she hated talking about this considering she had never before.

"Yet here we are" Thomas said and Carina faced him with a puzzled expression

"Me and you, are here, against all odds Carina we survived and god what we have been through that I actually remember cant compare to some of the stuff before but I swear to you babe no harm will come to you ever again- not from WICKED, not from the cranks and certainly not from me" He vowed. Carina was taken back by Thomas' sudden declaration and her heart swelled at the boy looking at her with nothing but love and determination.

"I love you Tommy" she whispered to him; leaning forward and capturing his lips in a sweet but passionate kiss.

"I love you Carina"

"What do we do now?" Frypan asked- still also affected by last nights event.

"Well, we pick up what's left of us. We stick to the plan. We get you kids to the safe haven. Then we start over, I guess." Vince says. Mary's loss had taken a toll on him too- Carina could sense the great amount of care and love he held for her. He was trying to appear strong for the kids but she could see right through it and into the heartbreak and pain.

"I'm not going with you" Thomas said as he stood up with his bag. Carina wasn't even shocked- she knew Thomas would do this and she supported him 100%.

"What?" Vince said in shock

"I made a promise to Minho. I wouldn't leave him behind. I have to go after him." Thomas said seriously

"Hey, kid, look around you. All right? WICKED just kicked our ass. You think about where you're headed." Vince tried to sway him out of it

"I'm not asking anyone to come with me." Thomas said

"You don't have to" Carina says and stands next to him "They took Aris and Sonya too and I ain't heading for no safe haven if they're not by my side" Carina tells Vince sternly

"Thomas, listen to me. I've known Minho for... Well, as long as I can remember. So, if there was any way that we could help him... trust me, I would be up there standing next to you. This, what you're talking about... is impossible." Newt exclaims sadly- it killed him to say it but he didn't want to risk more of his friends dying.

"More like suicide" Jorge adds as him and Brenda walk forward

"Maybe. But I know what I'm supposed to do now. It's not just about Minho. It's about all of us. It's about everyone WICKED's ever taken, everyone they will take. They'll never stop. They'll never stop, so I'm gonna stop them. I'm gonna kill Ava Paige." Carina says almost smugly but anyone could sense the underlying anger in her voice

"I have to admit... I'd like some revenge" Harriet says as she smirks slightly at Carina

"Well, that's a good speech, kid. So, what's your plan?"

A/N: So this is the end of book 1 Dream!!! sorry this chapter was a tad shorter than the others but I really hope you liked the book. Please don't forget to vote and recommend :)

In terms of other books I am planning to write a sequel which will obviously be based in Death cure and a little before but that all depends on when and where I can find a good copy of the movie and script so we might have to wait a little while before I start writing that.

I was thinking about a short prequel which would be set from Carina's childhood to her time in the maze with group B. I think it'd be really interesting so let me know what you guys think about that!

Also Please vote on my chapters! it gives me motivation to actually write and otherwise I feel as if you guys don't like my story.

I genuinely wrote this book in about two weeks which might not seem long for only 15 chapters but for me it is considering I've never finished a fanfiction In my life.
