"Haruno-san, are you sure?"
"Yes, please, allow her to take the test."
"The results would be in soon, alright, Shiori-chan?"
"... Hai."
"Give me a few minutes and I'll inform you of it."
"... Hai."
Shiori grimaced as she woke to the light hitting her sensitive eyes and immediately shut them. In front of her, there was a shift before a voice called out, "Shiori-chan, are you awake?"
Shiori repressed a sigh, "No."
"Aha! I knew it, ohayo, Shiori-chan." The bubbly soprano voice sang out, causing our heroine to sigh. Shiori opened her eyes and was greeted by the face of her friend, Nanashi. Silence, a pause, "Ohayo, Nanashi-san."
His eyes lit up and a grin plastered on his face, stretching his cheeks, "Finally! Shiori-chan! Let's go train!"
Shiori sighed, "Hai, hai."
"How is this possible? Is this even normal?"
"Uh, Haruno-san, calm down."
"No! This shows how different she is, I always thought— we always knew she was different, but this—!"
"Haruno-san! She's your daughter!"
"Ne, Shiori-chan, do you still have a family?" Nanashi asked, dodging a kick aimed at his sides which was retaliated with a front kick. Shiori blinked, not expecting the question, and held her hand up to intercept the incoming attack. "I do."
"Who?" He asked, ducking below and reached a leg out to trip her. Shiori jumped up and did a roughhouse kick, "My parents and a sister."
"Wah... That's nice," Nanashi did pause gesture, hands reaching up to nurse his head as the attack hit, "I'm an orphan, and they named me Nanashi Ren."
"No name zero?" Shiori muttered under her breath.
"Yep."
Shiori hummed, "I was going to be named Shirayuki. But they stuck with Shiori."
"You... You want to seal it? Why!"
"It's dangerous, she shouldn't be exposed to it. Not seal it, just... Restrictions."
"... Haruno-san, you're being unreasonable."
"She's not even my biological daughter."
"Why?"
"I was born in December," Shiori smiled. Nanashi widened his eyes and flushed, "You're cute when you smile, Shiori-chan."
Shiori felt flattered, "Thank you."
"Shiori-chan, what's your affinity?" Nanashi asked, propping down beside her. He crossed his legs and had his hands stacks one after another in front. Shiori tilted her head, should she answer? "Fire."
"Fire? That's cool, you're fire like the land you're from." He huffed, Shiori blinked at the coincidence, Nanashi grinned, "Mine's Earth."
"Interesting."
"Shiori-chan, I'm not going to seal it."
"Seal what?"
"Your intelligence, did you know, you have an IQ of over 200?"
"No... I do now. Why does okaa-san want to seal it away?"
"You see, Shiori-chan, such a high intelligence is almost impossible, with such intellgence your mindset differs from others."
