Nanashi had been so happy, he had been so fucking delighted to finally see his friend again, his heart had been thumping harshly against his scarred chest, a happy balloon was expanding within him, but then as soon as he laid his crimson eyes on the pale and still form of his only friend, Nanashi Ren wanted nothing but to kill. With his black hair shadowing half of his face and fist clenched tightly enough to draw raw, red, fresh blood, he spoke with venom dripping every syllabus uttered from his mouth, "Why?"

There was silence, no one present dared to answer the fuming boy, staring at him with unmasked wariness. Kakashi pushed both his students behind him, a sign to protect them while standing in front of the pink haired prodigy's bed. Kakashi narrowed his eyes at the bristling boy, waiting for an outburst that was inevitably coming from the boy. Nanashi raised his head up, tears streaming down his face and red eyes that seem to glow sharpened into a glare, "WHY IS SHE LIKE THIS? ANSWER ME!"

"How..." his shout died into a desperate whimper, "I left her with you because I trusted that she would have been safe, but this, what, why did this happen to her? What did you do to Shiori?"

"Calm down first," Kakashi forced out and cringed at the sudden tensing of the boy, "She was in this state the moment she arrived. This happened when she was kidnapped."

"Oh..." Nanashi blinked, and grinned, "That's it, huh? Shiori-chan's not dead, right? She's alright, she won't die, right? If she dies... I'm going to burn this fucking village down."

"She won't die, nothing will take her away, I'll destroy anything that tries to take her away from me, Shiori is mine and mine only." By the time Nanashi finished his sentence, a crazy smile slipped onto his face and a maniacal giggle escaped his throat. Kakashi held up a finger to silence a fuming Naruto who looked about ready to deck Nanashi right there and then. He reluctantly seals his mouth shut, not uttering a word because Kakashi just looked extremely serious at the moment and Naruto respected him enough to follow.

"Dying?" Shiori tested the word before breaking down into hysterical chuckles. Her hands reached upwards to cup her own face, eyes wide with hysteria, realization and resignation, "Dying? I'm actually dying?"

Yukino knew her daughter was trying to come to terms with the fact, yes, she was dying. Or perhaps it was something else. Regardless, Yukino knew it was her daughter dealing with the situation, Shiori's father had been the same after all. Kamui had been exactly like that, always too independent, trying to solve everything and anything on his own. Shiori huffed and dropped onto the floor harshly, she laid down, staring at the dark abyss above her, before asking her mother a question that's been hanging on her mind for quite some time now, "Ne, Kaa-san, who's my real father?"

Yukino stilled before relaxing, "His name, is Kamui Hoshigaki."

"Hoshigaki?" Shiori blinked rapidly, her mind wrecking for a connection she could make towards the name. Ah, wasn't Hoshigaki a clan from Kirigakure? Wait... if Shiori remembered correctly according to what Katawara-sensei had drilled into her, Hoshigaki was a clan for human-fish hybrids, they were a clan with people who have an insanely large amount of chakra that could rival an Uzumaki to exceeding them. As thus, Kisame Hoshigaki, an S-ranked Criminal and member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, was nicknamed Human Bijuu with the chakra reserves he possessed.

Perhaps this explained her insane regeneration of chakra? She always found it weird why her chakra restored easily, but maybe it wasn't restored but she pushed the rest of the chakra back unconsciously and drew on It when she was in a fight due to sudden depletion of chakra. Sharks are also known to have thick skin, it would explain her tolerance to certain techniques she made.
