Shiori Haruno has always been a quiet child. She never raised her voice or talked back, but her words always commanded respect and notice. Charisma, that's the word, her charisma is great. When she was six and a half months old, she watched how her mother stood up, she watched how her father walked, by the time she was seven months, she managed to take her very first step, unknowingly developing her muscles faster than other children, by the time she was eleven months she could walk stably.
When she uttered her first word, her mind had been on the scenery she saw at the playground her parents brought them to, she had said, "Peace" and that was also when Sakura was still learning how to walk stably. By the time Sakura said her first word, Shiori was already reading books and learning her hiragana, katakana and managed to write her kanjis.
Then, when she was five, her mother asked her a question, "What do you want to be in the future?"
She thought over it properly, sure she wants to be like those kunoichis that are around the village every day, but what she wanted most was something different, her mind drifted back to the park she went to, she wanted to keep that, "Me? I want to be someone who brings peace to the world."
And she had meant every word.
Then, in two months, she entered the Ninja Academy. It was a little troubling to be separated from her sister who she had been with since birth, she looked over at her sister and felt herself soften, she tries to smile as brightly as possible at her sister, "That's okay, imouto-chan, we can still sit together during breaks and Kunoichi classes are joined."
Her sister had looked happier after, Shiori considered a mission accomplished.
Her first class began, she walked in and was overwhelmed by the number of students in this class, a woman with a Chunin vest walked in, she had a bright smile, onyx eyes and dark hair, "Good morning! Welcome to the Ninja Academy, I would like to tell you being a Ninja isn't easy, okay?"
There was a chorus of "Hai, sensei"s. Shiori noticed.
"Now, how about we introduced ourselves?" the teacher suggested, "Let's see, My name is Akane Uchiha, I am twenty-five this year, I live in the Uchiha District with my family, I like to teach children and eat Chawanmushi, I dislike Dango and my dreams for the future has already been fulfiled and it is to be a teacher."
"Wah!"
"Sugoi!"
"Why don't you start first, Mika-chan?" Akane-sensei said as a girl with big, round blue eyes and long flowing blond hair stood up, "My name is Mika Yamanaka! I am turning six this year, I live with papa and mama, I love sweets and flowers, I dislike boys-" here, she made a face at a boy with an annoyed look on his face, "My dreams for the future is to be a beautiful kunoichi."
"Ah, thank you, next!"
Shiori listened with rapt attention to the students and finally, it was her turn, "My name is Shiori Haruno. I will be five this year, I like... making my family happy, I dislike when... there is conflict, my dreams for the future is," Shiori smiled for the first time since all her classmates saw, "Is to become a person who can bring peace to the world."
There was silence, no one spoke. Even Akane-sensei was stunned at the genius of this child, it reminded her of her clan's heir, Itachi Uchiha, a child who spoke in a way war veterans would, eyes that shine with wisdom like no other child.
"Weird," someone made a face, "You're so weird, so sound like an old lady. You're an obaa-chan!"
"Hai?" Shiori tilted her head, "My dreams sounds like an old lady? Thank you for your compliment, then, Fujitora-san."
Akane Uchiha watched as the child dipped into a bow, the boy who made fun of her looked taken aback, "What compliment?"
"Weren't you just saying I think like an old lady? That means you think I think maturely." Shiori responded smoothly.
"What are you saying? Stop using confusing words, old lady!" Fujitora-san glared, making the older Haruno confused. "Okay...?"
"Right," Akane coughed, "Let's start the class... Now, what is Chakra..."
Shiori was left confused the rest of the day.
Soon, days turn into months and every term, Shiori Haruno never failed to be the top student in the class, her grades were always perfect and chakra control was amazing. It didn't take long for her teacher to realise this civilian born child was a prodigy, she took it up to the Hokage before the child could start getting bored with the curriculum, after all, geniuses are too smart for their own good, it wouldn't be good if there was another Orochimaru but it would be good if there was another Itachi.
"So, what do you think, Shiori-chan?" The Hokage asked, Shiori looked at the slips of apprenticeship and frowned, "If I graduate early and accept, would I still get to be with my sister?"
"Well, only at home." The Hokage smiled.
"Oh, let me think about it," Shiori answered, she was occupied by her thought for months.
Then the end of the first year came, and Shiori's parents were visited by the Hokage, that's when everything went wrong, very wrong. "...I hate you, nee-san!"
Shiori felt hurt, betrayed, pained. She didn't know what she did wrong, she was very much hurt right now. She had just wanted to spend more time with her sister and now this happens. When her father called, she just responded dully, her sister hated her.
"So, tell me, what is most of the apprenticeships about?"
Shiori answered, she wasn't really into the conversation but her father practically catered her off to a Shinobi he barely knew. Sure it was the Hokage who confirmed the Jounin, Katawara-sensei, is trusted. It hurt a little but Shiori had no time to dwell on it.
The next morning, she woke up earlier than anyone else. She made breakfast with the help of a stool to reach the stove and left a letter for all her family.
She looked back at the house and sniffed, "See you again."
It was half-past five in the morning when her sensei finally arrived. Half an hour after she did, she smiled, "Ohayo, Katawara-sensei."
"Ohayo, Shiori-chan. Have you said goodbye to your family?" Her sensei, black hair and purple eyes grinned at her, "Sorry I was a little late."
"I did," Shiori lied... Half. She didn't exactly lie, she did say goodbye, just not face to face. What her sensei doesn't know won't kill him. "Do you have anyone you said goodbye to?"
"Well, sure. Let's go with that." Her teacher said before pushing her out if the village doors. They bid farewell to the gate ninjas and left from a journey filled with rainbows and nightmare, as all Shinobi has to encounter.

"Katawara-sensei, what are you doing?"
"I'm, uh, you know-" "Sensei, you became a tomato."
"We're going to see a famous Sannin."
"Tsunade-sama?"
"No."
"... Orochimaru-san?"
"NO!"
"Who?"
"We're going to see the best of all, Jiraiya-sama the Toad Sage!"
"... Ah."
"Don't sound so unenthusiastic, chibisuke."
"I'm not."
"Your tone doesn't sound like it."
