The office is a huge, grand room with large, majestic floor-to-ceiling windows and magnificent crystal chandeliers. The floor consists of light green and white tiles arranged in so many different patterns, you could look at it all day and never get bored. A few tables are set up at the back of the room. We walk over to the lady who is passing out schedules.
"Schedules for Ramaya and Parisa Naciat please."
"Here you you go sweeties," the woman says in a kind voice, as she hands us our schedule. We walk over to the office benches to put down our suitcases and open our schedules.
“I'm so excited!" Parisa squeals as she tears open the envelope.
"Yeah, me too," I say, a smile creeping onto my face.
" My first class is Basic Skills 1," she says. "What's that like?"
"That's a fun class." I inform her. "You learn how to handle your power, how to use it, and when as well as where to use it, stuff like that. You're lucky you have it first."
"That sounds fun!" She says excitedly. "What's your first class?"
"Ugh. History of Dimicel 4." I groan, not even trying to hide my disappointment. "It's such a boring class."
"Oh. Sorry." Parisa replies.
"It's not your fault," I state. "Plus, it can be useful in the future, I guess-"
"My second class is Flying! Yay!" Parisa interrupts, flipping to her next class sheet.
"Wow! Awesome!" I say. "That's my all-time favorite class!"
Parisa gasps. "Do you think we'll be in the same class?" she whispered excitedly.
"I don't think so, you'll be in Flying 1 and I'll be in Flying 4, plus I don't have second period flying." I reply.
"Oh." She says, looking disappointed. I’m secretly glad they don’t combine flying classes. I mean, as much as I love Parisa, she can get a tad annoying.
"So is it any fun?" Parisa asks, interrupting my train of thought. See? This is what I'm talking about.
"Wha- flying class? Oh yeah! Definitely."
"Great!"
We sit in the office a little while longer, and talk about our classes. I have History first, Basic Skills second, then Writing, and then lunch. After lunch I have Flying, then Math, then Science. All at level 4.
People come in and out, getting schedules and chatting with friends. I greet a few of the kids my age, and introduce them to Parisa. The two of us talk until a teacher comes in to inform us that the First Dinner will start in 45 minutes, and that we should go put things in our room before hand.
"Alright then! let's go to the dorms!" I say. We walk out of the office and into the dorm building. The dorms are a large, rectangular building next to the office. The dorms are split by a stairway, one side being for the boys, the other for the girls. The first years get the bottom floors, and the eighth/final years get the top floor. I'm on floor 4, because it's my fourth year of school. I stay on the bottom floor to help Parisa unpack. Everybody gets their own room, but they're small. They only hold a bed, dresser, desk, and small bathroom.
"Here you go! Room 127," I say. "Oh, and your door will automatically unlock as soon as you touch the door knob, so don't worry about getting locked out." I add.
"Ok," Parisa says nervously, as she opens the door to her dorm. She eyes the room. "This isn't such a bad room." she says with a smile. “But small. Pretty darn small.”
"No, it's not so bad. You can decorate it a bit," I say. "If you brought money, you can even pay an animal element to paint it for you. I'm guessing you want another color other than beige. And, the animal elements are pretty artistic."
"Yeah, I brought a bit, thanks for the tips," she says, looking around.
Turning to me she says, "You should go to your room. You don't want to be late for dinner."
"You sure you don't need anything?" I ask.
"No, no... I'm fine.” She says glancing around. “Now go to your room already!” She teases when she sees I’m still there.
"I'll be in room 414 if you need me." I remind her, walking out of the door.
"Okay," Parisa replies, closing the door behind me.
