"Good luck Gavin!" Kaelie pecks his cheek before he goes to the changing rooms.

"We'll be cheering you on man!" Rhodes grins.

"Thanks for coming out here guys," Gavin fiddles nervously with his thumb.

"Please! We wouldn't dream of missing this battle." I smile encouragingly at him.

"Well, I've got to go change! I'll see you all after the battle!" He turns with a smile and flies down the hole.

I say bye to the rest of them and drop down into the locker room as well. I make sure to land extremely lightly on my ankle, even though I have an appointment tonight with Dr. Gradding to take off my cast. I can't wait.

"Ramaya!" Drexel yells excitedly. "When are you getting your cast off? Is it tonight?" He's already totally dressed in his battle gear.

"Yup! Tonight is it!" I chime happily.

"Great! We'll have you for the Water Battle then!" He grins. "I heard they're going to be a tough contender this year."

"I heard that too! I'm going to head to the viewing room. Where is it?" I ask.

"I'll take you to it. I'm going down that way anyways."

"Thanks."

"You're welcome."

I cross my fingers as the teams come streaming out of the openings in the walls. The arena is a flat, open field, with trees dotted around the arena walls, and small, sharp rocks near the center. Not only is it clearly an advantage for the Air Team, it's very similar to the arena we used during tryouts. I just hope they'll use this advantage to win. I bite my lip nervously. I want the Air Team to win so bad, it nearly hurts.

I sigh as the first Air member goes down. I think it was that kid Dawson from tryouts. I smirk as he gets frozen not too soon after, by Gavin. Everyone rooting for the Air team currently in the viewing room cheers. My grin disappears when I see Calum trying to attack a fire element from behind while he's fighting one of our own. He sends wind rocketing towards the Fire element at the same time the other Air element does. The combination of wind and fire causes an explosion. It's strong enough to freeze both of our elements, while the Fire element makes it out.

I seriously want to smack Calum. He's a jerk, and obviously not too bright. He shouldn't be a captain.

The battle drags on, and soon, it's Drexel versus three Fire elements. He nimbly takes out two of them with little damage done to him, but the third member catches him by surprise. It's Garron. He sends a strong, constant burst of fire. Drexel raises his hands, and bends the wind to make a shield around him. The flames lap around the shield, trying to gain entrance. On the offensive, all Garron has to do is send a little more force into the flames. And he does. The shield gives out, and Drexel freezes. Fire has won. Even without Yvette's sabotaging.

"Don't worry Gavin! You did fine!" Kaelie reassures him. We're all walking to the Dining Room to pick up lunch.

"Yeah man! You did fine!" Rhodes chimes.

He grins. "Thanks guys. It means a lot that you came."

"As we said before, we wouldn't ever miss that Battle!" Alanna giggles.

We find Brooke and Payson at our normal lunch table. "Hey guys! How did you guys do on your battle?" I ask, taking a seat next to Payson.
