I woke up around 7am the next morning after my unusual dream with the green-eyed spirit. I rubbed my eyes sleepily and rolled over...only to have the absolute shit scared out of me as I found a doll-like little girl with pink hair staring at me. I jolt awake but she continues to give me a blank stare.

"Oh, hello! You must be Lorie!" I squeak, sitting up and sorting myself out properly.

"You're so pretty!" she cries.

"Oh...thank you," I blush.

"Not as pretty as me though," she smirks, "but that's okay, you'll do."

Well! This child has a lot of nerve!

"I'll be ready in a few minutes, and then I'll make you breakfast okay?" I try.

"I woke up really early and Nicolae gave me breakfast," she mumbled, "I want to play!"

"Oh, okay, well if you can wait for a little longer until I get ready I'll play with you," I smile.

"Okay, but don't keep me waiting," she huffed, "it's very rude for a servant to do so."

Before I can retaliate, she flounces out of the room. I make my bed, have a brisk shower, comb my hair and pull on some jeans and a slouchy off-shoulder jumper. I walk down the hall to Lorie's room at a brisk pace and almost bump into a tall dark haired guy with green eyes.

"Oh, sorry! I'm in a rush to get to Lorie's room," I explain.

He gives an embarrassed smile and mutters, "It's okay, I'm Peter, the second eldest. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"It's lovely to meet you too, Peter," I smile, "I'd better go, Lorie must be waiting."

"Have you had breakfast?" he asked.

"No, I'm not hungry in the morning," I lie, "I'll eat later." More lies.

He looks at me dubiously but says nothing. I make my way towards Lorie's room. The little girl is playing with her doll-house. For the next hour, she had me playing horrifying games where princesses die and princes were tortured.

Nicolae poked his head around the corner of the door, all smiles, "Ophelia, the moving van is here with your furniture. It's rather small, do you not have a lot of possessions?"

"I only brought what I'd need for my life here," I explained bluntly, "I sold everything else."

"What have you brought?" he asked, as the delivery men carried the furniture through to my room.

"My sowing machine, modeling dummies, some fabric and a few boxes of bric-a-brac," I answered.

He raised his brows in surprise and said, "You sew?"

"I make clothes and aspire to do so for a living," I say.

"I want a princess dress made!" Lorie demanded.

"Lorie!" Nicolae scolded.

"What?" Lorie replied, seeming genuinely shocked, "She's my servant, she needs to do as I say!"

"Lorie, she is your nanny, not a servant," Nicolae scolds, "she gets time off and is now a part of our family. Just for your rudeness, you are to remain in your room until dinner."

The little girl huffs and storms back into her room and Nicolae turned to me with a gentle smile, "Ophelia, you may take the afternoon off to explore the town if you wish. You could do some shopping."

"I'd like to get some books and a new sketchpad," I smile shyly.

He nods and I return to my room to grab a jacket and my purse. I walk back out and bump into Peter. He looks a little awkward and hops from foot to foot.
