Maybe All We Are's a Secret [Sequel](Completed!)

An Unexpected Visit

Aw man. I really wish that I could tell mommy and daddy about Rueben being alive. After rebuilding his memorial, I want to so badly, but I can't. I hate keeping secrets from them. I'm their daughter, and I shouldn't be doing this, but I have to for now. Rueben is the most important thing right now for me.

"Hey Jessica," Aunt Jesse says, pulling me out of my thoughts. "I just wanted to say thank you for rebuilding Rueben's memorial. I heard that it was destroyed for some reason, and I was really upset about it. But then I heard that you and Aunt Kaylie rebuilt it, and it's exactly like how it was before. Thank you."

I feel so bad now. I could tell that she was upset about it. She had tears marks on her face and tear drops on her shirt. She really misses him, but little does she know that he is alive.

"You are welcome Aunt Jesse," I say, trying to keep in tears myself. "I would do anything for you. I hate seeing you upset."

"I try not to get emotional in front of the others, but I feel like I can with you because you understand how much it hurts. Especially since Ken died."

"Well, of course," I say, pierced in the heart as she mentioned Ken. Ken was a dog I used to own when I was 2 years old. He died after getting hit by a car only 1 week into having him. I was so upset about it, but Aunt Jesse got me through it because she went through it herself with Rueben.

"Sorry that I mentioned Ken," she says, noticing my silence. "I was just saying that you feel my pain as well since you lost him."

"It's okay," I say, wiping away a tear that came down my cheek. "I understand. I'm gonna go visit Kaylie's house."

"Why?" She asks, raising an eyebrow.

"Just want to chill out with her a little," I say, trying not to mention that Rueben was there waiting for me to come see him. "I will be back before dinner though, so don't worry."

"Okay," She says, starting to walk out the door. "Have fun with her."

"I will," I say, walking out with her and heading to the front door. "Love you."

I walked out before she could say it back, and I got excited! I can get to know Rueben personally now! He will tell me all about him! Aunt Jesse said that he was able to communicate with the others through his oinks, and I am hoping that I can translate what he says! I'm sure I will get it quickly.

Soon, I arrive and ring the doorbell. I was greeted by Kaylie.

"Hey Jessica!" She says, moving out of the way so I could come in. "I'm guessing that you are here to see Rueben?"

"Yes I am," I say, walking into her house, my eyes wondering around to see where Rueben was. Soon I saw him, and I ran to him. "Rueben! Hey buddy!" He slammed into me, which made me fall. I laughed as he got off me. "I guess you were looking forward to seeing me."

"He has been looking forward to seeing you ever since he met you the first time," Kaylie says, giving me and Rueben a pat on the back. "So what do you want to do?"

"I want to get to know Rueben," I say, focusing on him. "I want to know how life was like before the wither storm and he was killed."

"Okay, that's fine. You 2 have fun."

"We will," I say, taking Rueben into the backyard. "Now Rueben, I want you to answer with your honest opinion. You don't have to lie to me. I will take a while to understand what you are saying, but I'm sure I will catch it quickly."

"Oink (Okay!)" Rueben replied.

(From this point,!I'm going to script the conversation.)

Me: Did Jesse own you since you were a little piglet? Or were you an adult when she got you?

Rueben: Oink oink oink. (She delivered me actually. She has had my mom for a while before I was born. And then, she had me, and Jesse delivered me. Mom was sold soon after, but she kept me and I have been there ever since.)

Me: Oh really? That's cool. What are you like with her friends?

Rueben: Oink... (Well, some of the relationships I have with them are kind of complicated. With Lukas, it was mind of bad at first, but eventually I grew to liking him. Olivia and Axel, I'm close to them. Same with Petra. Feona, me and her were so close. Me and her hung out more than me and Jesse did. I don't know about Juliana because I don't remember her when I was younger.)

Me: Actually Rueben, Lukas is my dad and Petra is my mom.

Rueben: Oink?! (Really? I thought I saw some resemblance in you from them.)

Me: Yep. What was the wither storm like?

Rueben: Oink. (It was caos. We were always scared that it would catch up with us and suck us up in its tractor beam. When your mom had wither  sickness, she didn't want me around her, and that made me upset. Your dad 2 times tried to leave, but Jesse convinced him to stay both times. We didn't want him to possibly get caught in the wither storm. When it let go of me while me and Jesse were defeating it, I was so scared. I didn't know if I would land in the water or not. I landed on the ground beside it, and I was really badly injured. That's what caused me to die actually.)

Me: Wow Rueben. Well, that's all the questions I wanted to ask you. Thanks for answering them. I'll see you soon."

Rueben: Oink! (Thanks for asking me! See you soon! Have fun with Jesse and the others!)

(Now it will be back to normal)

I walked out, and I screamed at who I saw. It was mommy and daddy!

"Hey sweetie!" Daddy says, giving me a hug as I ran to them and tackled them into a hug. "How was your visit with Kaylie?"

"It was good," I say, beaming. "She was so sweet! I want to visit her more often!"

"Well, we will make that happen," mommy says as we walked back home.

"Thank you," I say, looking back at the house. I saw Rueben looking out of it staring at me. I smiled and waved quickly at him. He waved back and got out of the window. I am so glad that I got to know him! I am looking forward to visiting him again!
