Newt x Reader : The maze hurts

Chapter 5: One night in the pit

    We just stayed in by his hammock and just talked about my night in the maze. Then before we knew it, it was dinner time I have to spend the night in the pit tonight because I went in the maze when I wasn't suppose to. But there letting me get food because I saved Minho's life, and tonight we had a great dinner. We had ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, and apple sauce, and I grabbed my plate of food and went and sat down at the table Newt, Chuck, Minho and I usually sit. I sat down and then I felt arms wrap around my waist and give me a hug from behind I turned around to see Newt smiling down at me.

    "Hey love, mind if I sit next to you" He smiles, I pat a spot next to me and he sits down with his tray already at that spot I didn't even notice it. So he sits down and just smiles at me then starts eating, then I look up and here comes Gally. He sits across from me and gives me a smile then he looks at Newt and loses the smile. The table was silent until I chose to speak up.

    "So how's Minho?" I asked remembering the expression on his face before the doors closed. They look at each other not with anger but with concern, they were hesitint there was something they weren't telling me. Then Gally looked at me head lowered but then he finally told me.

    "Well you see y/n, after the doors closed Minho passed out and he hasn't woken up yet." Gally explained with a concerned look on his face. I looked down at me plate of food that was pretty much gone then I decided to ask another question.

    "Hey where's Chuck?" I asked. The Newt looked at me and gave me a slight reassuring smile.

    "He's looking after Minho up at the Med-Jacks." Newt said sounding calm, with that I stood up and walked to Frypan I could feel everybody's eyes on me but I didn't care.

    "Hey Fry can I give Chuck his food?" I asked with a gleam of hope in my eyes he gave me a smile before handing me a plate with food on it and I made my way to the Med-Jacks. When I got there I knocked on the door then a quite "come in" was heard, and I opened the door and walked in to see Minho lieing on the bed asleep his ankle was wrapped up and propped up. Chuck was sitting on a chair right by his bed side, he look up at me with a big smile on his face.

    "Here I brought you some food." I said handing Chuck the plate of food

    "Thank you y/n." He said not hesitating to dive right in with his food.

    "Hey Chuck if you want to go and eat with the other gladers I'll stay here and watch Minho." I said

    "A-are you sure?" He asked, I nodded my head and he headed out I pulled the chair that Chuck was sitting in a little closer to the bed. I noticed that Minho still had a few scraps and scratches still on his arms and I decided to clean them up. So I went over grabbed a piece of cloth and wet it I walked over to Minho and started to clean up his scratches. Then suddenly he shot up right in his bed drenched in sweat, and breathing heavenly. I started to rub his back to try and calm him down, he still hasn't noticed that I was there. After about 8 minutes he finally calmed down, then he looked at me tears starting to form in his eyes.

    "Y/n" He said pulling you into an embrace. "Thank you for saving my life" he said now tears streaming down his face.

    "No problem remember I'm always here for you don't worry." I said reassuringly, then there was another knock on the door and I said "come in," then Alby comes in.

    "Come on y/n time for the pit" he said.

    "Yeah greatest place on the earth" I said sarcastically getting a little chuckle out of both Minho and Alby. Then I gave Minho one last hug and I headed out to the pit, I climbed in and Alby tied it up and walked away. Then after about 4 hours I see a light.

    "Who's there?" I asked then I see Minho on crutches heading over to the pit.

    "What are you doing here?" I asked eagerly

    "Well it's my fault that you're in here so I thought why don't I come and keep you company." He said with a big smile across his face.
