Chapter 6: Back In I go

"So what happened to your ankle exactly?" I asked with a look of concern in my eye.

"Well I was running and a Griever was chasing me and I wasn't paying attention and my foot got caught in the Ivy and I fell and sprained my ankle but thought nothing of it, then the next day it was soar and still sprained. Then I fell while running and it just messed it up even more." He said looking horrified by the memory, we sat in silence for about 3 minutes then Minho spoke up. "So how did you survive a night in the maze?" He asked with a deep breath, looking really interested.

"Well obviously I had to run for a while, then I found a cliff and well then I got an idea, the Griever was still chasing me so when it got close enough I moved out of the way and it fell over the cliff. Then after that I ran to a wall that had ivy all up it, and I climbed up and sat at the top and fell asleep. When I woke up it was time to start heading to the entrance then I was stopped by another Griever and well I saw that the maze was changing. So I found a wall closing and I got the Griever to chase me and I made it before the wall closed but I can't say the same for the Griever, then I made my way back and well here we are." I explained

"Wait so you're telling me that you killed a Griever." He said with a bit of shock in his eyes

"Yep" I replied with a smile.

"Wow y/n you sure are one brave and strong gladers." Minho said with a smile up on his face.

"Well it was worth it because I saved your life, and that's all that matters." I said with a smile on my face.

"Well thanks" he said with a yawn.

"Are you starting to get tired?" I asked him, he nodded and layed down. "You know you don't have to stay out here with me, you can go back to the homestead" I told him.

"Are you trying to get rid of me" he said with a smirk, "no it's my fault that you are in here so the least thing I could do is stay here with you." He said smiling then laying down and drifting of to sleep, soon after so did I. I woke up to Minho saying my name but he wasn't trying to wake me up he was screaming in his sleep.

"Minho, Minho MINHO WAKE UP" I started to scream and started shaking him, he woke up with a startle and he was drenched in sweat and tears streaming down his face. "Hey, hey a-are you ok?" I asked looking concerned.

"Ever since you saved me, I-I've had dreams of you going in and me not being able to do anything about it." He said still tears coming out of his eyes like a river, it was about 7 in the morning and Alby started walking over with a certain blond haired boy.

"Hey greenie ready to get out?" Alby asked me as if he didn't already know the answer, he untied me and I jumped out and gave Minho a big hug, and I wiped away his tears. Then it was Newts turn I ran into his arms and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey y/n can I talk to you for a minute?" Alby asked.

"Ya sure thing Alby" I replied.

"Since you've spent a night in the maze, I think we should make you a runner." He said with a strict look on his face so I knew that he wasn't kidding.

"Wow really, I-I would love to be a runner" I said excitedly

"Ok grab some breakfast and meet me at the runner hut in a hour and a half." He said.

"Good that." I said walking back to Newt.

"Hey love I-I'm so so sorry you had to spend a night in the pit." He said not meeting my eyes.

"Newt it's really alright it wasn't even bad I also had Minho to keep me company."I said putting two fingers under his chin and lifting his head so his eyes met with mine and I gave him a reassuring smile, he gave me a smile back. I grabbed his hand and took him to the deadheads in the forest, he gladly came with.

"Hey Newt I wanted to talk to you about" I was interupted by a set of warm soft lips pushing against mine.

"Y/n, love, I've had feelings for you since you came up in the box I-I love you, y/n will you please be my girlfriend." He said with a huge smile and a hopeful gleam in his chocolate brown eyes.

"Yes Newt I would love to be your girlfriend." I said with a huge smile and I gave him a huge hug and we broke apart and intertwined our fingers together and we walked out of the deadheads and to the kitchen. We all get our food and sit down I sit in between Newt and Minho and across from Gally, then it was time for me to go.

"Mind if I walk with you love?" A cute british voice asked

"Wouldn't have it any other way." I replied, we both put our plates up on the table so they can get washed then keep walking as soon as we get far enough from the other gladers we hold hands. We just don't know how the gladers are going to react to us dating. So we approach the hut and walk in Alby's there getting stuff ready for the run.

"Since Minho has a sprained ankle I'll be running with you." Alby stated

"Ok sounds good" I replied. I grabbed my bag and put some first aid supplies and some other things. It was time to go, Alby, Newt, and I jogged to the entrance.

"Ready to go?" Alby asked me I nodded my head and turned to Newt I gave him on last hug before it was time to go. Before I left he grabbed my arm and kissed me on the forehead, then he came up to my ear and whispered.

"Please be careful, I don't know what I would do without you promise me that you'll be careful and promise me that you'll come back." He said

"I promise Newt I'll see you at dinner I love you." I replied

"I love you too y/n" Newt said with a smile trying to hide the concern in his eyes, and with that I turned around to face Alby and I gave him a slight nod and we were off into the maze.
