I stretched and rolled over onto my side. As my cheek hit the pillow, I quickly pulled it up after the sting and hurt it caused. I suddenly remembered the happenings from last night. I got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror and was shocked at what I saw.

My eyes were red and puffy, obviously from all the crying. I had tear streaks on my cheeks. But it was what was behind the tear stains that made my stomach churn. On my left cheek, there was an ugly looking black and blue mark.

I brought my finger tips up to my cheek, and slightly brushed them over the bruise. I hissed at the pain that coarsed through my cheek. My head was pounding. My mouth was dry. I leaned back against the wall and fell to a sitting position with my knees up against my chest. A small cry left my mouth and the tears started pouring.

I'm not sure how long I sat there and cried, but I was brought back to reality when a knock came from my bedroom door.

I quickly stood up and brushed away the tears, pain filling my cheeks each time I touched them. I cleared my throat the best I could before speaking.

"Y-yes?" So much for being strong and confident.

My door swung open, hitting the wall behind it. Chad walked in and walked straight over to me.

"I'm going to work. Stay in this house until I get home. I'm not sure when I will be home so don't even dare try to leave. If you do, there will be consequences." His gaze hovered on my black and blue cheek, and for a moment I thought i saw his eyes soften a bit. I guess it didn't matter much though because he quickly left my room and minutes later I heard the car pull out of the driveway.

I must have sat on my bed for hours because the next time I moved, I noticed there was more light coming from the window and my stomach was growling. I walked down the stairs, still in my pajamas, and grabbed a banana. It took all I had to eat. I knew I was hungry, but I was sick to my stomach from last nights happenings.

My phone rang and I hit the ignore button. I recognized the number as Harry's, but I didn't really want to talk to him right now. A few minutes later it buzzed, notifying me of a new text.

Hey. Just wanted to check on you. Your husband seemed upset when I dropped you off yesterday.

I deleted the text and placed my phone in my pocket. I knew it wasn't Harry's fault, but part of me wanted to blame him for the drastic turn my already not so good relationship had taken.

Three weeks had passed since the incident and the bruise on my cheek had definitely been taking it's course. It went from black and blue, to a darker black and blue, to purple, to an ugly grey, and now it was a grey with a yellowish tint to it. I could barely stand to look at myself in the mirror.

Lucky for me I wasn't forced to go out anywhere since it happened. I'm sure Chad made sure of that so he wouldn't have to make up some excuse about me being clumsey or something. I was sitting on the couch, reading a book and drinking some hot chocolate.

The doorbell rang and I jumped, causing some of the hot chocolate to spill over the sides and all over the couch and my sweater. I cursed as I grabbed a towel and began wiping up the couch. I tried to wipe off my sweater the best I could on my way to the door. I looked through the side glass to determine who it was before unlocking the door.

As I opened the door a crack, I came face to face with the curly haired bus boy. He smiled at me but the smile quickly dropped when I opened the door all the way.
