CARLEY'S POV

We sat there awkwardly for a few seconds. I wasn't really sure what to say. I felt like I was betraying Noah, but we weren't even a thing.

"So, sorry for those weirdos." Liam said, with a friendly smile.

That calmed my nerves.

"It's fine, they meant well." I told him.

"Why'd you come out to Maine? I thought they filmed Stranger Things in Georgia?" He asked, relaxing in his seat.

"They do! I'm just filming another movie at the moment." I said.

"Is it fun?" He asked.

"I guess..." I said trailing off.

I loved filming, but I missed Millie, Sadie, Finn, Gaten, and Caleb. Noah, the most. Filming was my new life, but they were my life-long friends and I was having trouble feeling open again. I was shy Carley again.

"What do you mean 'I guess'? You don't like the movie your filming?" He asked.

"Oh, I love the movie! It's so inspiring and uplifting. It's just- just complicated." I told him.

"I get it." He said.

I smiled at the fact he didn't keep digging.

We sat there for awhile, just talking and laughing every once in awhile. It was fun. I actually relaxed and it felt like it had been forever since I did that.

I kept looking at him, expecting a spark, but it wasn't there.

"You need to go home?" He asked and I quirked and eyebrow.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"It's been three hours..." he trailed off.

I glanced out the window, the sun was nearly down. I must be around 6.

"Oh! Yeah, I didn't even realize-" I said.

"Time flies by when you're having fun." He told me, a sparkle in his eye.

I smiled, awkwardly.

"Yeah." I simply said.

"You know, I had a great time today." Liam said, reaching over the table to hold my hand.

I quickly pulled away, but I didn't miss the hurt that shone in his eyes.

"I'm sorry, I-" I started to say.

"I understand." He said, gaining his composure.

"It's just-" I started to say, again.

"I don't need an explanation, Carley." He said, saying my name sadly.

"I think I should go." I told him.

"Yeah, bye..." He said, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Bye, Liam." I said with a sad smile.

I walked out the door, my face red. What in the world just happened.

NOAH'S POV

I looked at the photo. My heart hurt. I was gone for one month!

Stop Noah! It's just a friend!

But look at the smile on her face. She looked so happy.

I kept looking at the photo over and over again.

Carley in a cafe with some guy. I had no idea who her was, but I didn't like it. She never even called to tell me this. Was she hiding it from me?

Was I not enough?

Old memories kept flashing in my mind. I quickly pushed them away and locked them up in the depths of my brains. Never to be released.

Me- who's the guy?

Millie- what guy?

Me- stop playing dumb Millz, your my best friend. You know exactly what I mean.

Millz- you need to ask her...

Me- Millie she never even texted me to tell me she was hanging out with him! They were alone! Clearly, one a date!

Millz- Noah, calm down. Carley isn't that kind of person. She would do something like this on purpose.

I sat there. Reading Millie's response over and over. Would she do something like this, though?

I felt like my mind was spinning. Jealousy took over every inch of my body making me want to scream.

I turned off my phone and ran the the bathroom. I just need a shower... I need to relax.
