   A week later...

   NOAH'S POV

"Noah, we are about to board!" My mom called 15 feet in front of me.

I quickly took my charger out of the wall and unplugged my phone. After I shoved everything in my bag, I picked it up and started running to where my mom had gone.

I was going to Maine. It was my idea, but as soon as I pitched it to her, she thought it was a 'fabulous idea', her words... not mine.

I sat down in my seat. I was in first class. I may have done a happy dance inside. My life had taken off in the last few years. I would have never dreamed of being here right now.

I've seen more and more pictures of Liam and Carley on the internet. I decided to not be jealous. They may just be good friends that hang out. Social media says different stuff just to get views, which is very childish.

I've been texting Carley all week, we text back and forth. Lately, she's been acting different. Almost guilty.

I think it's just the distance that has been making everything awkward. Maybe, this trip would fix things. I'd do anything for us to go back to the way it was.

I was overly excited. It was hard waiting. I decided if I just slept through the ride, everything would go by quicker.

CARLEY'S POV

"And then Lila fell on the ground, making the whole school laugh." Liam said, trying to calm himself down from laughing so hard.

It had been a week since I realized I should give Liam a chance. It had been going great. Nothing escalating too quickly. He was such a sweet guy, with a great personality, but something was just off. I couldn't put my finger on it.

"You're doing that thing again when you're deep in thought." Liam said, snapping out of my thoughts.

I looked up at his and put on a small smile.

   "Sorry." I said.

"It's fine. It's kind of cute to see you like that." He said.

Pink spread across my cheeks, but it just didn't feel right. It was like I had no butterflies in my stomach.

"I think we should go." I told him, looking at the time on my phone.

"So early?" He asked, disappointment evident on his face.

"My mom wanted me back early, she said I had a 'suprise' waiting for me." I said with a shrug of my shoulders.

"No need to keep the queen waiting." He said, a small smile dancing on his lips.

We got up and started our journey to my house. We did this everyday for a week. Meeting at the cafe and then walking home after. It was fun.

Out of the blue, in the middle of us walking and talking, Liam grabbed my hand. I didn't understand why, but he did.

I looked down at our connected hands and I noticed how it felt weird. Almost uncomfortable. I looked back up at Liam and he was smiling ear to ear. I couldn't let go, he looked so happy.

We walked back home. He made a few jokes and talked a lot, our hands never disconnecting. We walked up the stairs to my house, hand in hand. I didn't know when to let go.

"I had fun." He said, notice house he still hasn't let go.

"I did too." I said, half true.

"Same time, same place?" He asked.

"Definitely." I said, with a small smile.

   The door flung open.

"CARL-" Noah yelled, but stopped mid-sentence.

My eyes widened in suprize and then I saw his eyes shift to Liam and I's connected hands. I let go immediantly, as if I touched fire.

"Hey, Noah." I said awkwardly after a second or two of silence.
