Chapter Thirtyone - part two

A small, polite smile grew on my face. Me being my shy self though, looked down at my feet and kept walking. Hoping we would walk past each other without any words.

Today was not the day I got my way though. A feminine, but slightly deeper than the average girl's voice said, "Hey! Wait, aren't you Carley Nicholson?"

I looked back up and all three were staring at me.

"Oh, y-yeah." I stuttered slightly.

A huge smile formed on her face.

"No way! I thought I was just seeing things!"

   "Huh?" I asked confused.

   "You're from Stranger Things!" She almost yelled.

   "Lila, calm down." The first twin said, annoyed.

   "NO WAY! YOU'RE CHAROLETTE!" The second twin screamed.

   The girl, which I guess was Lila and the second twin, ran up to me.

   I blushed. This was the first time I got recognized on my own.

   "You are so much prettier than in the preview!" The guy yelled, a deep voice.

   "Luke, shut up." The first twin said.

   "Oh come on, Liam! You are the one who called her gorgeous the other day on Instagram." Luke said.

   Those words took me by surprise and my whole face flushed red. Liam's eyes grew big.

   "I do not know what you are talking about..." Liam said.

   A small laugh escaped my mouth and Liam's eyes landed on me.

   "What he said, was a lie." He held his hands out in front of him, to defend himself.

   "You wish." Lila said, laughing.

   Liam put a hand on his face and sighed.

   "Are you going swimming?" Lila asked.

   I shook my head, "I didn't bring a bathing suit." I told her.

   "You came to the beach, to just walk?" Luke asked.

   "Yeah." I laughed.

   "Well can we at least get a picture?" Lila asked.

   "Um, of course!" I responded.

   Lila threw Liam her phone and Luke and Lila got on either side of me. I smiled and then Liam snapped a photo of us.

   "How about you, Liam!" Lila mocked.

   Luke suddenly pushed Liam next to me.

   I looked up at him... and I mean straight up because I am really short and he is really tall.

   "I think we've wasted enough of her time." He said.

   "You really haven't..." I spoke confidently.

   Liam looked down at me, and that when I heard a camera noise. That made both of our heads snap to where it came from.

   Lila and Luke were behind the camera with huge smiles on their faces.

   "JUST SMILE FOR ONCE LIAM." Luke yelled.

   Liam groaned and then finally put a hand on my back. I smiled, small and internally screamed at myself.

  NOAH NOAH NOAH NOAH.

   What if Noah sees these pictures? It doesn't matter, he's just a fan.

   "Okay..." He said, and quickly stepped away.

   He rubbed the back of his neck.

   "Your like 14, right?" Lila asked.

   "No, thirteen." I said.

   "Oh, I'm fifteen... Liam and Luke are thirteen too!" She said.

   "Oh-" I started to say, but was interrupted by my mom's yelling.

   "CARLEY, WE HAVE TO GO!" She yelled.

   I turned back around to look at Lila, Luke, and Liam.

   "That's my cue." I laughed.

   "Oh, okay! Well, maybe see you around? We come to the beach a lot!" Luke said.

   "Maybe... bye guys." I said and glanced over at Liam right before I left.

   A wall.

   Shielding him.
