The auditorium was a little more than half-filled when second lecture began. The room was clouded in a haze of muffled voices and rustling clothes, and everyone looked around to get a glimpse of the unknown half of students.
"Good that dancers are sitting in the front," Jimin whispered towards Jungkook, "the composers would most likely break their stiff necks if they tried turning their heads back."
His boyfriend snorted amused and nodded.
The composer class were mostly men. Jimin could only spot three women. And even an oblivious observer could tell were dancing class ended and composer class began. The dancers sat in their chairs with straight backs and something like grace, whereas the others hung on their seats like bags of potatoes, most of them with slightly spread legs and crossed arms. And whereas the dancers all had black or brown hair, the composers were a funny mix of different hair colors.
When the teachers entered the room, all heads snapped to the front and silence filled the room. Jimin giggled when he saw the composer class' teacher. Their dance teacher Miss Kim only made the man's appearance worse, because she was the perfect opposite. She was a sporty woman in her thirties with pitch-black, straight hair, that barely reached her shoulders and split symmetrically to both sides of her sharp face what made her look a little intimidating. But Jimin knew she was anything but strict. Actually, she was the most fun of all their teachers, always up for a joke and silly faces. But her dancing skills were one of a kind; she had the entire range from sensual and soft, over flirtatious and cocky to inhuman and crazy. She was their goddess of dance and every student envied her. The man, though, that followed her into the room had a soft pouch and a chubby, nice face that carried a generous smile. His short hair was neatly comped back and a filigree model of circular glasses sat on his nose.
"Good morning everyone!" Miss Kim greeted them and the man beside her bowed softly. "For those who don't know the composer class' representative teacher: This is Mr. Bang. And I'm Miss Kim," she introduced them both. Damn, they really were opposites. When it came to business the Miss never smiled.
"There's only half a year until your graduation, and, as you all should know, at our school it's a tradition to pair up the composer classes with the dancer classes and let them work on their graduation project in groups of two or three," she started to explain. Soft murmurs buzzed through the room. Jimin looked at Jungkook and they smiled at each other. The two had fantasized about their graduation project and what their partners would be like; if they would be lucky and get someone really good, or if they would hate their teammates. They had thought about what style they would choose and what they would wear, and all those trivial things. And, as well as them, everyone else was all ears to not miss a single word.
"We'll announce the groups now, and you'll come together and get the rest of the day for getting to know each other, exchanging numbers and stuff," she continued and nodded to Mr. Bang who started to read out the list. That smile never seemed to leave his lips and Jimin wondered if this man could even get angry or strict. Maybe he was intimidating when he did so?
"Jeon Jungkook and Kim Namjoon," they heard after a while, and the raven stood up and turned around to meet a tall man with blonde hair and a cute dimpled smile.
"Later," the younger murmured into Jimin's ear and grabbed his bag and jacket to leave the room with the Namjoon-guy.
They went through the dancer class alphabetically, so Jimin would have to wait a little longer. When, finally, his name got called, he straightened his back and bit on his bottom lip nervously.
"Park Jimin and Min Yoongi."
He stood up and turned around to find another blonde guy in a black long-shirt and blue ripped-jeans, but he could not be any more different from the Namjoon-guy. He was small, as small as Jimin, rather skinny and his skin was as white as paper. And there was no nice dimple-smile on his face; instead, he looked rather bored. Nevertheless, he nodded at Jimin approvingly, and, after gathering their things, they left the auditorium.
