The presentation day had come and the students were driving themselves mad.
Jimin had not been able to figure out this situation, so he had dived into training like his life depended on it. And with every try, the choreography had become more of a mix of the composer and him. Half breaking free, half being caught again. A never-ending attempt to break out of the cage and to fly away. And though it meant completely different things for both of them, it was strangely connective.
He had perfected the dance over the last weeks and was perfectly confident with it. Still, the audience of parents, students, foreign guests and talent scouts was making him nervous. It was the second day of presentation and the air behind the stage was boiling from nerve-wracking anticipation.
He wore a silken, black button-down and his beloved black jeans for the stage when he exited the small room he shared with five other dancers.
Unfortunately, Jungkook was one of the five. They had shared brief glances, and Jimin's heart had clenched painfully when he had seen the love in the raven's eyes. It still lingered there, waiting for him to accept it once again. He just could not forgive himself, could not understand how his beloved bunny could still love him after everything he had done. But, nevertheless, he had missed him so much that it hurt. All he had wanted was to run into his lover's strong arms and hug him, never letting go. Only now, he had understood what he had thrown away for a mind-wrecking adventure.
When he had not been able to stand it any longer, he had stepped out into the hallway, and now he was searching for Yoongi. They were the first act, and he wanted to see the other before he would hit the stage. Even if it just was to calm his nerves.
He found the composer looking through the slid in the curtain.
"Hey," he whispered, though the mumbling audience sure would not hear him even if he spoke normally.
"Hey." The rapper turned around with a smile. He looked tired but happy.
"Are you ready?" the sharp whispering voice of Miss Kim interrupted them.
The woman had combined red high heels with a golden track suit and looked at them with bright eyes. She was breathtakingly extravagant.
"Of course, Miss," Jimin replied and smiled reassuringly.
"Then let me start the show," she whispered and slipped through the curtain.
While the woman and Mr. Bang welcomed the audience and explained the graduation project, Yoongi stepped behind Jimin to fix the blindfold over his eyes. He had not dared to lay hand on the older after he had been turned down so brutally the last time. Since back then the rapper had always kept his distance, physically and verbally, and had turned down every attempt to talk about their romantic relation. They had almost been back to when they had met for the first time. The more Jimin was happy when he felt soft lips on his nape.
"You'll do great," the rapper said and placed his hands on his shoulders calmingly.
Deafening applause filled the hall and reminded Jimin of the seven hundred people that would watch him. But then the room went dark and silence fell over the audience, and with soft force, the composer pushed him through the curtains.
Their song started to play.
With the beginning of the bassline, a spot drowned him in light from above. They had had private rehearsals for this to make it even more impressive. And though the blindfold was slightly transparent, he did not need to see. He knew the beats by heart, and his body moved by itself.
