The next morning, I awake to rocks being thrown at the glass doors that open up to the porch. I grumpily swing my legs over the edge of the bed, walking across the wooden floor. I laugh as I see Deidara and I walk out to the porch, blocking as a rock comes flying at me. "What the hell!" He laughs. "What if you had woken up my roommate? She's real vicious when people wake her up." I grin.
"Did I?" He asks, placing the rocks back on the ground.
"No, you didn't."
"Okay then, everything is good, right? I meant to wake you anyway."
I stick my tongue out at him. "Why?" I say drawing it out in a complaining manner and I jokingly stomp my foot in fake annoyance.
"You do want to train, don't you?" He asks with a smirk. "But, if you insist on going back to sleep, we can always call it off. I mean, I could go make some more art work."
"No, no! One sec..." I rush into the room, changing in the bathroom in a world record time and jump off the porch, landing behind Deidara.
He laughs. "That was quick. You really love training, don't you?"
I nod as I run to the field. "Yep, and that's exactly why we absolutely cannot call it off!" I throw a kunai at him as he comes running to the field, he catches it by the hilt, not a single scratch. My eyes widen and he just laughs as he throws it back at me and I jump out of the way as it falls to the ground where my foot was just a second ago.
He laughs. "Amateur!"
After training, I invite him inside to take a break and we begin talking and laughing. I hear the door open and look to see Tukiko.
"Hey, Nioki, I got your favorite!" She looks at Deidara and raises her eyebrows in approval. "Who is this?"
I stand and take my coffee from her and point to Deidara. "This is my new friend, Deidara. Deidara, this is my best friend and roommate, Tukiko."
They both smile and say "hey" simultaneously and then burst out laughing. I sit down next to Deidara, Tukiko across from us.
"Sorry I didn't get you a coffee, I wasn't expect company." Tukiko apologizes.
I smile. "Its okay, he can just share with me." I take a sip and pass it to him. After a while of us all talking and hanging out, he excuses himself to go back to the Akatsuki.
Tukiko raises her eyebrows as she laughs. "Ooohhh, you got yourself a hottie!"
I shake my head frantically. "No, no, no! We are just friends!"
She laughs. "Yeah...okay. Maybe more like just friends...with benefits!"
I begin chasing her as she runs away into the bathroom, locking herself in. "Tukiko!"
I hear her laughing from the other side of the door. "You guys should totally date!"
"Date my guy friend? Have you lost it?"
"No, I am perfectly okay."
"Would you date your guy friend?" I ask curiously because I seriously wanted to know what was going on in her head right now.
She giggles. "If he looked like that, I definitely would!"
I groan. "Of course, you would say that."
I sigh as I plop down onto my bed and look up at the ceiling. Tukiko comes out and jumps on me. I scream in shock and throw her onto the floor, tackling her. She is giggling the whole time and I finally get up and race towards the door. "Let's go to Krispy Kreme for breakfast!" Tukiko squeals and runs out the door. "Tukiko, wait!"
We walk-actually we half run-to Krispy Kreme and I see Deidara's back side sitting on a stool.
"Deidara?" I ask surprised.
Him and a girl with dark brown hair both turn around. Me, Tukiko and the other girl all gasp.
"Haruki! Is it you?" Me and Tukiko ask simultaneously.
The other girl smiles and laughs. "Nioki...Tukiko!" We all hug each other in a group hug before sitting down on stools and ordering donuts.
I got a cheesecake donut and a regular glazed; Tukiko got a regular glazed with Bavarian cream in the middle and a snicker doodle donut; and Haruki ordered two chocolate donuts with chocolate icing. We get a booth and all sit-including Deidara.
"Haruki, you know Deidara?"
She smiles. "Yeah. We actually just met but he seems really great." She laughs as he pretends to look offended.
"So far, so good. We met yesterday and he hasn't done anything to prove me wrong." I say glancing at him.
He laughs. "I'm just cool like that. Even if I did something you didn't like, you know you'd still be my friend!"
I punch him in the shoulder lightly. "You don't know that."
He punches me back. "Yeah I do. And you haven't really denied it, so I must be right."
I roll my eyes and laugh. "Okay...fine, Mr. know-it-all."
He smiles proudly. "Knew it!"
Tukiko leans over the table and whispers into my ear. "You guys should date!"
I slap her arm. "Shut up Tukiko!" She raises her eyebrows suggestively-up, down, up, down. Haruki eats her donuts in silence and I try to bring her into conversation. "Haruki, why didn't you come visit us?"
She smiles. "I was going to, I swear! I just wanted breakfast first. I like literally just got here."
I smile. "Okay, I forgive you. And how was the final mission with Kakashi for your training?" I raise my eyebrows and she smiles, a light blush coming over her cheeks.
"I did good, says Kakashi."
I squeal. "Of course you did good! How was the alone time with him?"
She slaps me on the arm from across the table. "Shut up! I don't like him like that!"
I had the feeling that this was one of her mood swings and that she wasn't kidding. I play it off as though she was despite the stinging and my most likely fire truck red arm. "Okay...okay."
We finish eating and Haruki brings her stuff to our room, another roomie! Deidara and I go walking along the beach by the water.
"So, what do you think of my friends? I know they're not part of an awesome, secret group-"
"They seem wonderful from first impressions. They are definitely your friends."
I slap his arm playfully. "What is that supposed to mean?"
"They, for starters, are annoying, rude, and weird, just like you." He laughs as a shocked expression crosses my face. "Just kidding! You and you're friends are not any of those things!"
"You jerk!" I laugh as he begins chasing me in the sand. I quickly do my signs-which let me tell you, I wasn't that good at-and disappear behind Deidara, jumping on his back. "Got you!" He grabs me, throwing me over his shoulder, instead of riding on his back and I pound on his back. "Put me down!"
"As you wish." He says with a smirk. He drops me onto the sand and I grab his leg, bringing him down with me. We laugh and I quickly stand when I see Tukiko and Haruki. I lend him a hand and help him up.
