Chapter 8: Trapped In Jeopardy

Loki's POV

I slammed the last and the third door. I can't find anything, only rooms for the maids, guards and gardeners. But I don't know why I can't see even one of them in this mansion.

Maybe the most important clues were in Lorelei's rooms. I wonder of what Lorelei have been discovered. Maybe it's now the time to find out who is the culprit and put an end to  this mystery. I already gave justice to Rhea back in Clark High, my project/plan is already done.

I haven't heard any shout lately. Maybe Lorelei is just okay, but I can't assume, deduction lies on probability and not from absolute certainty.

All the rooms were closed. Maybe it's already locked when Lorelei came here, or maybe........someone else did it.

I rushed down the stairs. Maybe Lorelei already came down the first floor. I saw Alistair, searching for clues even the inside of the vases. Lorelei was right on recruiting him. 

"Oh Loki, found any clues?", he asked.

"Nothing", I simply said. There's no time for explaining it,it's just a waste of words.

He smiled. "I found something"

He put his hand in his pocket. I wonder what is it. He showed to me a golden ring. It had a letter "V" with wings in it.

"What do you think?", Alistair asked.

"Give the ring to me, I know who is the owner of one of them"

"Them"?, Alistair asked out of curiosity.

"It's a waste of time to talk about. By the way, have you seen Lorelei?"

His face suddenly became serious. "Huh.....akala ko kasama mo siya?"

She's always been a damsel in distress. I must didn't left her alone. What a dumb decision on letting a girl go alone in our own enemies' territory. Damnit.

"Hey guys, good news! You don't have to worry, Jamie is alright", Stein said while coming towards us.

There he comes again. The foolish one who kidnapped himself back in Clark High. I thought that he already died in the basement.

"Where is Jamie?", I asked Stein.

"She said she wants to stay in the basement"

I let out a little smile of what Stein said..........

Stein looked at me and Alistair. "Why so serious? You must be happy that Jamie is just okay"

Alistair looked at me. I can see the anger in his two eyes. He looked at me as if he wants to kill me.

Alistair held the collar of my shirt. "I trusted you to take care of Lorelei! And you leave her alone! Tiniis ko ang paggamit mo kay Jamie at Lorelei dati bilang pain sa mga kalaban. Pero iba na ito ngayon Loki, you will pay for having Lorelei's life at risk---"

I fell on the floor. I felt blood coming out of the corner of my mouth. I didn't think of having revenge on Alistair. I deserve this. For having Lorelei's life in jeopardy. He looked down on me like I had stolen the most precious thing in his life.
