Chapter 12: The Haunted University

Lorelei's POV

"L-loki?"

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko ng makita siya na nandito. Loki seeing me hugging his own brother feels awkward. Baka kung ano ano ang iniisip niya.

Na curious si Luthor sa ikinagulat ko at tumingin sa kaniyang likod. Nag staring contest sila ni Loki. He's not even surprised seeing his own brother.

I was even more surprised when Loki held my hand.

"Let's go"

"Nag-uusap pa kami ni Lu-"

Kinaladkad ako ni Loki palabas ng Diogenes Cafe. Napatingin ako kay Luthor.

"Let's chat on messenger later", sabi ni Luthor saka nag smile. Nag goodbye wave nalang ako sa kaniya.

Kumawalas ako kay Loki ng maka abot kami sa parking lot. Tiningnan ko siya ng masama. And for pete's sake, he did the same! Matapos niyang sirain ang meetup namin ng secret admirer siya pa ang galit?

"What's your problem?!", tanong ko sa kaniya.

Tumalikod lang si Loki at nagpatuloy sa paglalakad. I held his right hand. Humarap siya sa akin. He need to explain right now.

"You", Loki said while staring at me eye to eye.

"Me? Why don't you ask yourself for interfering!"

"Why did I interfered? Have you forgot already Lorelei? The principal excused us in the class to solve cases, not for meetups with some guy!", pagpapaliwanag ni Loki.

Natulala lang ako sa sinabi niya. I don't want to admit, but he's right. Napayuko nalang ako. But I wonder why Loki called Luthor as "some guy" where in fact, they are biological brothers.

"I'm not angry Lorelei, I just......", Loki paused at hindi na niya pinatuloy ang kaniyang sinabi.

"What?"

"Nevermind, let's go back to the club right now"

Sometimes, I feel like Loki is becoming more mysterious each day...

Bumalik kami sa aming clubroom. Pagbukas ko ng pinto, agad na kinausap ako ni Jamie.

"Lorelei! So kumusta na ang meetup niyo with Mr. Secret Admirer?", tanong ni Jamie sa akin.

Hindi ko siya sinagot at tumingin lang ako kay Loki.

Nanlaki ang mga mata ni Jamie. "Don't tell me, si....sinundan ka ni Loki?"

Dumiretso lang si Loki sa kaniyang chair at nagbasa ng libro. Tiningnan ko si Jamie ng masama.

"Ba't mo sinabi sa kaniya? Ayun, nakita niya kami ni Luthor na magkayakap"

"SI LUTHOR?!!!! NG MAGKAYAKAP?!!!", gulat na gulat na sabi ni Jamie.

"Don't overreact, it's not what you think", sabi ko sa kaniya.

"OMG, sorry Lorelei, I shouln't have told Loki about it", sabi ni Jamie at nagpout.

"It's okay, forget about it

TOOOT TOOOT TOOOT

Tumunog ang cellphone naming apat. Tiningnan ko ang nag text, si Principal Enriquez.

"A group message to the QED Club, it just means one thing, NEW CASE!", masayang sabi ni Stein.

I opened the message.

From: Principal Enriquez,

Come to the Principal's Office right now, A new case is emerging in the University.
