It's a story that happened last Sunday.

Usually, Sunday is the day when AB goes out with his friends and I spend the day exploring my bookshelf, deciding which book I want to reread again the next week.
Well, sometimes I'd go outside too. It's pretty rare though.

But last Sunday, rain poured heavily and none of us had a chance to leave the house.
AB could just use the car but he said he's too lazy to move that day.

Well, I know what he meant. Personally, for me, whenever it rains, I don't want to do anything else than sleeping or watching the rain down until I feel sleepy.

Sometimes, I'd love to sit near the terrace and let the rain wet my hands and feet.

But the rain that day was not just the rain, it was also, a few times, decorated with loud thunder.

I hate thunder and lightning.

So, I skipped enjoying the rain outside.

Mom was at home that day and she was sleeping.
Sunday is her only free day from work so AB and I always never want to disturb her rest time.

Instead, that day, AB disturbed mine.
That brother of mine came to my room when I was busy covering my head beneath my pillow, reducing the sound the thunder made.
The sound of my room door made me get up and I lifted my body with my elbows.

"Hey, Minion!! Were you sleeping???" he asked happily.

He was too happy, and it never means anything good.

"No. Just avoiding the sound of thunder." I said, still covered

AB snorted a bit. "I know you can't be eighteen. Anyway, let's go down to the kitchen."

I frowned deeply hearing his sentence. "What? Why?"

"Let's bake a cake!"

I groaned, dropped my head back to my pillow.
"Ugh.. I'm too lazy. Just make it yourself!"

AB widened his eyes in terror. "And let me destroy the kitchen? Well, I'd love to. But I'm not sure Mom would like it."

"That's not 'Let's bake a cake' then. It's 'Naya, please bake a cake'." I protested.

My brother grinned widely. "I'll help you, Sis. This time, I'll help you for real." Then he added, "Beside, it will be a great snack for mom when she's awake later."

Okay, okay. He melted my heart.
If there’s anything that makes my mom happy, I can’t say no to it.

And finally, ladies and gentlemen, we made the cake.

It's just an ordinary cake without frosting sugar and any decoration above it. But mom likes it that way. Especially with a lot of raisins on it.

My brother, made me impressed, he really helped me with the dough.

He messed up a bit with the eggs, struggled to separate the white from the egg yolk.
As result, we spent a box of eggs.

Seven for the cake.

The rest of it....
Well, ask my brother if you want to know the answer.

The important part is we finished the cake.

Mom came out from her room when I just pulled out the cake from the oven.

Oh, gosh!!!! Her face was soooooooo priceless.
Her smile made our efforts feel worthy.
I have to admit, AB did the right thing by asking me to bake it.

Mom said she woke up because of the delicious smell from the kitchen, which made AB and I feel more satisfied.

That brother of mine made tea for mom to enjoy with the cake while both of us ate it with ice-cream.

Rain and ice-cream??
Oh, yes, that's a perfect combination. XD

So three of us didn't go to the mall or hang out with our friends.
We had our quality time together.

And to my surprise, for hours in the dining room, while we ate and talked, none of us knew where our phones were.

Love you ❤
