It's the last day of year 2014, meaning his daughter will turn one and they are all preparing for his daughter's first birthday, Unfortunately he was alone planning for Ellaine's first birthday tomorrow. His wife is not even here, She never take his call even a reply to his thousand messages..
He felt sad but he had to accept the fact that his wife is no longer happy with him.
Of course he feel that way, if Jessie is happy with him with their daughter she won't find another man to replace him.
He is still have questions in his head if why she did that, but he doesn't want to make an issue, all he want to do is to avoid to make trouble with his wife.
He'll let her wherever she is happy about, even though it will make him even more sad or suffer from heart ache to see her with somebody else.
It's such a shame how they both planned about Ellaine's big day before but now he's left planning all of them alone.
"Is her mum will be here?" His sister Andi asked, he is with his family at his mum to celebrate the new year all together.
"I don't know." He simply replied helping Ellaine to stand on her feet.
"Why do you still want to wait even though you knew that she's in a relationship with Jack?" His sister asked again and everyone's eyes are on him now. He's just staring at his daughter while listening.
"Because I know she'll be back for our daughter." He said not even take a look at them.
"You're just kidding yourself. She had left you even your kid." That's his brother, Ian.
"I cannot let her go in that way without even knowing the reason." He said and finally look at them.
"You don't have to stay.. You're just making yourself tired." It's Vicky, his sister.
"Isn't it clear that you are not special for her anymore?! Look, I have no doubt why she'll find someone because she's always far away from you and your daughter. She spent most of her time with her work than her own family, but Dan, wake up! She doesn't love you at all." Mandy, the eldest one in O'Donoghue.
"She will come back and I am willing to accept her with an open arms, if it's needed for our daughter." He said without being afraid to tell them what he truly feels. "I still love her, she is still my wife, the mother of my daughter, I should hear her side first, there might be a deep reason why she did that." He said but everyone just sighed including his mother.
"I will respect your decision, Son. No matter what will happen we are just here next to you." It's his mum. He just look down, still thinking of his wife.
"We will help you to raise your kid." His brother Dara said.
He felt sad whenever they talk about him being alone with his daughter, but what else he could do? If he can only follow his wife and talk to her, but he once tried to meet her but she wasn't in the hotel she was living in US. He lost hope when her manager have told him that she doesn't want to talk to him.
Oh yes, he did that last month but nothing had happen.
They all get up from their seats to prepare for tonight's, while they all are walking to the kitchen and left all the kids in the living room someone knocked on their door. They all looked at each others.
"Are you guys expecting someone?" He asked and everyone just tell them they don't.
"I'll go and open the door." It's Andi, they continue walking while Andi is going to open the door.
He get himself a glass of water and just watch them first until they heard Andi.
"What are you doing here?" That's his sister and he just look at everyone since they all are in the kitchen and there's a wall where they cannot be seen from the living room.
"I just want to see my daughter." A woman said. A familiar voice!
"That's my wife." He said and quickly put the glass on the table and head out of the kitchen. Everyone follows him.
"Andi!" He said to his sister and Andi just moved aside and there he saw his wife again after months. He feels like he wanted to cry but he controlled his emotions.
"I just want to see my daughter, tomorrow she'll turn one." Jessie said and his sister Vicky was about to say something but he stop her.
"I'll get her." He said and walk near to his daughter at the playmat. "Mummy's here, Minimal!" He said in a baby talk.
He walk back to the door where his wife is still standing and there he realized that they didn't even let her step in the house.
"Everyone will cook for tonight's and we can go out in the garden, maybe we can talk." He said though he felt bad that he can't let her in for a while. She just nodded and look at everyone, there is something in their eyes but he just ignored it and walk outside to their garden.
They sat on the chair with the table in front of them.
Jessie clear her throat and get Ellaine from him
"I should say sorry for getting late, I supposed to be here early but invitation from people who wants me perform in their countries keep coming my way.. So, I'm sorry for the delay and sorry I couldn't get a chance to help you when you plan the event for tomorrow." She said while he is looking somewhere. He cannot look into her eyes like what he used to do.
"It's okay. I used to be alone when it comes to my daughter, so it's fine." He said making her feel the guilt. She keep looking at him while he keep avoiding on her.
He can see through her eyes that she loves the other man more than him.
"I thank you for letting me see her and for letting me be here to be with her to celebrate her day." She said.
"You're her mother, who would dare to stop you?" He said keep looking away.
"If I can only get more time, I want to spend quality time with my daughter." She said. He smirk.
"You always have some time, You just chose Jack over your daughter." He mumbled but he is sure enough that she heard that. "I'll go and help my family so you can at least spend some quality time with your daughter." He said and get up from his chair without even looking back at her.
He just want to forget, he want to avoid on her as much at he can. But it's really hard to do it.
