Part 9

I woke up from my stomach protesting from not getting any food yesterday before I was going to bed. The last house competition was today. No matter what the Wolfdale's were going to win. I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and looked at the marbel floor. I swore that I could feel how cold it was just by looking at it. And I was right! It was extremely cold when I put down my feet there. I sped across the floor to my bag and took out a snack bar. I hated to eat them, but it was all I could get my stomach for now. I looked at the time. 8:49 AM. I sighed and thought to myself that it wasn't that bad, in one hour it was time for breakfast. I heard the snoring from people around the dorm room. I shrugged and took on some clothes. I started to think about what Gear had done for me. He had told me stuff about Dante, the big bad bully. That he had a teddy bear? Wow, I didn't think he was THAT childish. But what am I to judge? It's hard to let go of stuff you have had for a while. I grabbed my laptop and my headphones before walking downstairs. I sat down on one of the red plush chairs and started up my laptop. Anime, here we go!

I heard mumbeling outside the door when I was getting a glass of water. I heard Kyera whispering to someone. It sounded like Markus. Why were they out there? I walked across the lush purple carpet. Damn, alot of the things were purple around here. I put my ear to the door and listened closely. "Mark! Why would you say that?!" Kyera's tone was upset. What were they talking about? "Beano, you need to keep him away from Gear! He is just trouble!" Beano? Were they boyfriend and girlfriend? The two house leaders? I shrugged at the thought and kept on listening "But, you saw how Gear beat up Dante, TWICE!" Kyera's voice had a slight studder in it. "You know how he is! He protects someone just to break them!" Mark raised his voice slightly. "This is different! I saw his expression! Usually he is smiling when he beats people up, now his expression was stone cold!" Were they talking about Gear and me? Had she been there all along? Just watching? Weird. "I know, I know. Just keep an eye out for Ashley." I heard a kiss and gagged. I rushed back to my seat and went back to anime when Kyera came inside. She saw me and waved before skipping over "Join me for breakfast?" I closed my laptop and took off my headphones "sure, why not!"

At breakfast I found my gaze trailing over to Gear's table. He was glaring at Dante, his look was irritated for some reason. All of a sudden Dante stood up and spat Gear in the face. Gear in response grabbed his collar and threw him on the ground. Kyera laughed and said "Boys, calm down a bit! We have P.E after this, need to save up your energy!" she threw a muffin at Gear's head and he caught it and ate it before saying "thanks for the muffing Ky!" and continuing to beat up Dante. It was kind of amusing to watch the two. For some reason the others were cheering on them. Was this a normal thing that happened from day to day? It seemed like it was planned since nobody spits people in the face just for fun. Atleast from what I know, mabye it was a trend here. A dangerous trend but hey, what people do for fashion. I went back to talking with Kyera, Winter and some other members of the Dragonpride house.

P.E rolled around and we were training in transformations. "Kyera! Can you show us your transformation so we can use it as an example?" Kyera nodded and stood up. Her body expanded and she turned into a big, black dragon. Her transfomations had three big tails and was standing on two legs. Her wings were folded on her sides and she had two big scorpion claws. The teacher pointed to Gear and said "Your turn." Gear looked around before sighing and grabbing Dante's arm and biting down. Out of his shoulders formed something that looked like a white flower. They spread out and they had red strands going up to a big red circle. Out of his lower back came something that looked like whips, but they were sturdier and many more. His eyes shifted from blue to black and red. He licked around his lips and patted Dante on the head. The P.E teacher pointed towards Kyera and said "wreck her." Gear simply shook his head and said "I wont hurt her unless she hurts me. Or him" he pointed to me. I felt a blush spread over my cheeks and I hid my face in my jacket. Embarrased.

The teacher had Gear and Kyera in placed beside eachother and showed us the different types of shapeshiftings. Dragons and Ghouls. I saw someone that looked at Gear like he was some kind of god. I had seen her before. Her name was Ruby and I heard that she was a ghoul too. I didn't think there were this many ghouls here. And yes, I count 2 as many because well, they are dangerous. I shivered and went back to listening. Why would this be so 'important' to learn about?

After class I jogged after Gear who had become his normal self again and asked when I came close enough "are you protecting me or some shit?" he chuckled and said "well, of course!" I looked at him as I tried to keep up with his fast pace. "Why?" I looked up at Gear who was taller than me. Well, of course he was. "Because I lov-" he cut himself off and said "Because you are new here, I don't want you to get the wrong impression of us." he walked inside of his dorm room and I sighed. Why in the world did he cut himself off? I thought about it as I walked inside and went back to my anime and watched Tokyo Ghoul. Fitting because I just had seen a ghoul.
