Shawn is literally driving me CRAZY!!!! What surprise does he have for our date tonight. I'm really hoping the weather won't effect his plans because I don't want to wait longer for this. I don't mind that it's raining, in fact I quite enjoy rain but I don't know about Shawn. I'm glad I grabbed an umbrella before leaving home this morning because as much I I love the rain, I don't need my belongings ruined and soaked by it. Walking in my door was a relief knowing I wouldn't have to worry about soaking wet papers or damaging my phone. My phone kept going off on my walk home so I decided to check it. Missed call from Shawn, 3 messages from Shawn. Why would he be calling me? Is there something wrong? I call him back.
"Hey Shawn"
"Hey"
"Why'd you call me, is something wrong"
"Well our plans might have to change because of the rain"
"Do not change our plans, I swear to god. I just walked home in the rain we are fine"
"Why did you walk in the rain, you could've called me"
"It's okay, I actually like the rain. Plus, I had an umbrella"
"I don't want you getting sick, next time call me"
"You know that's not gonna happen, unless it's a storm and I can't use an umbrella"
"Fine then I'll just go myself"
"Are you going to take one of the few things I love away from me now"
"Don't start that conversation please"
"I wasn't going any further than that, I promise"
"No promises"
"Honest-ly, Shawn"
"Yep. Bye Emma see you in a bit"
"Bye Shawn"

This time I decided not to shower. I was just in the rain. Wait, what are we doing if it's still raining? I decide to ask Shawn.
E: what are we doing if it's still raining?
S: still doing something
E: ok
S: btw you don't need to dress up, wear something comfortable.
E: um ok

Why did Shawn tell me not to dress nice? Oh well bonus I get to wear whatever the hell I want. I still change out of my work clothes and into some black spandex pants and a t-shirt, so I look somewhat presentable. When Shawn arrives early, like expected, I grab a crew neck sweater and clutch from last time, that still isn't unpacked, slip some shoes on and walk out the door. Shawn waits for me to lock it before we go to his car. Once we get in Shawn tells he's going to give me an official tour of Pickering. Since I've only lived here a few months I haven't actually gone anywhere really, except for work and the grocery store. First we go to the hockey arena he used to play hockey at. There was a peewee game going on there so we decided to watch for a bit. When we left the hockey arena Shawn brought me to the second best chocolate store I've ever been to. He bought me an arrangement of chocolates that will probably take me a week to eat. Next we go to his favourite cafe, grab a bite to eat and a hot beverage to go. Next stop school. As I get out of the car Shawn meets me at the front and puts his arm around my shoulder. He takes me around the school yard, while staying on the outside of the fence, points out the windows of the classrooms he was in, and told me stories of all the reckless things him and his friends would do at school. Some of them were actually pretty hilarious. Also some sounded like things the boys at my school would do. Time was flying by pretty quickly. The rain had stopped so the sent in the air was perfect for a night outdoors, and the stars illuminated the sky, helped by the spotlight of the moon. It seems like pictures from Shawn's concerts, with Shawn under the spotlight and all the lights from his fans phone's. The night was perfect. After being in the car for a while compared to the last few short rides. We had left behind the main part of town, I don't even know if we are still in Pickering. Through the darkness I could see water not far in the distance. We're at the lake. It seemed like no time between Shawn closing his door on the driver's side of the vehicle and him opening the door beside me. I hoped out of the car and he closed the door behind me. This time instead of him wrapping his arm around me our hands locked together. I leaned into him a bit and rested my head on his arm. We found a bench that was somewhat dry and sat down. Instead of talking this time I listened to Shawn sing as we watched the illusions the water made with the night sky. Shawn started to sing Life of the Party, so I decided to join in, since it was one of my favourite songs of his. He began to get quiet when he heard me sing. Quickly it became my solo. After the first 3 verses I stopped. I felt kind of embarrassed singing Shawn's song in front of him. "Why'd you stop?" He asked. "Because I was singing your oldest song alone in front of only you." "I'm sure I could get you an audience if you'd like." "I think I'm good. I don't really like sharing my voice because I'm afraid of their opinions." I said. "I thought it was beautiful." Shawn reassured. "Thanks" I replied shyly. "But wasn't your dream to sing?" Shawn asked "yeah, but I've always been afraid of my voice. Plus it's not as powerful as it was" "it's still amazing, Emma." I chuckle. "Thanks I try" I say, which is my usual response for a compliment like that. "I love you're voice, I love your cuteness" Shawn starts to sing, but then he changes into his normal voice "I love you" I start to cry. "Shawn!" I burst out muffled by tears. He pulls me closer to him. I dry my face with the side of his hoodie. "I love you too" I tell him. I move away from his arm and we lock eyes. He cups my face with his warm hands and dries the streaks of tears rolling down my cheeks. I smile and blush. Our faces slowly move closer together and I feel his breathing on my face. I wrap my arms around his neck and he moves his hands down my body to my waist. He picks me up, as he stands up off the bench and our lips latch together. Our first kiss. His lips taste sweet against mine. It feels like a dream. Our eyes closed, lips pressed together, under a beautiful sky, at a calm beach. It's almost as if the crack of dawn will be the thing to stop us. That's until the rain started to pour on us. I get to my feet, and Shawn takes his sweater off and holds it above our heads to keep us dry. By the time we get halfway to the car we are soaking wet from the rain and are laughing so hard our stomachs hurt. I'm even crying of laughter. Shawn drops his hoodie, bends down and takes me off my feet. I scream. He puts our wet 'umbrella' on top of my stomach as he runs ya to his car. I open my door and he plops me down on the seat. We sit in there for a while before leaving. The drive home seems too short to be true. When Shawn pulls in my driveway we both get out of the car and come to my door. "Thanks for the tour" I say still smiling from ear to ear.
