"When your heart breaks, your brain starts working."
AS Hayley and Spencer walked into the bar, Cami walked by them angrily.
"I wonder what crawled up her ass and died," Spencer remarked before spotting Nik and Elijah.
"Babe," Spencer spoke aloud as she sat down beside her boyfriend. She went to kiss his cheek when she saw his expression. "What's wrong?"
"I will warn you, girls, Niklaus is in a spectacularly foul mood today," Elijah told the as Nik looked up, glaring at his brother.
"Sod off," Nik spat before taking a gulp of his bourbon.
"What's the deal with these moonlight rings? Oliver's trying to set a revolution every five seconds, people are scared, angry, and frankly, I'm tired of stalling," Hayley spoke to Klaus, glancing at the pregnant brunette. "And so is Spencer."
"It's a day of peace, Hayley. Try and enjoy it. And, in the meantime, with all manner of unknown enemies conspiring against our family, you'll both move back in with us," Nik told her and Spencer grinned, smiling at her boys.
"Awesome!" Hayley spoke sarcastically, a forced smile appearing on her face. "Then, we can do that thing where you lock us in the tower, We escape, there's drama, and then you two both realize we're very capable of looking after ourselves."
"Hayley–" Spencer went to speak but Klaus cut her off.
"The rings are in progress," He told her in frustration. "I will live up to my word. We will find and punish whoever launched the attack on the bayou, and you both will return to the compound for your own safeties!" Hayley sighed and rolled her eyes. "But, right now." He grabbed a bottle of scotch. "I'm gonna finish this bottle--" he opened the bottle. "–and the next, in the hopes of drowning the demon who has chosen today to haunt me." He looked up at the ceiling. "Cheers, Mikael. Impeccable, Freudian timing." He chugged straight from the bottle.
"Mikael?!" Spencer whisper-shouted. "The asshole who stabbed me in the back like two years ago?!
"Elaborate," Elijah told Klaus with a concerned and feared expression. "Have you dreamt of our father?"
"Go ahead, have a good laugh," Klaus told him angrily, looking down.
"I can assure you there is no piece of this that I find even remotely amusing, Niklaus," Elijah told him seriously. "Especially considering I've been dreaming of him, too."
When Klaus looked up, he had tears in his eyes. "What?"
"If you are also seeing him..." He stopped mid-thought and looked towards the door which made Spencer and Hayley look over there, too. The girl -- Genevieve -- smiled at Elijah. "Perhaps our elusive, unknown enemy is orchestrating a further attack?"
